I think the Dem are holding off for the most part until after Nov.3 as they are licking their wounds right now just hoping for the best.

Nope. Can't fault him on that part. Nor on the part about his forum, his rules.

But allow me as a skilled practitioner of the fine art of internet brawling to point out, yes, all that is 100% valid. Give them bread and circuses and they will flock to your amphitheater...for awhile.

But if the gladiators are twisted little idiots or nearly professional trolls, the OTHER truth of it all is, sooner or later people of any conscience are going to get really, really tired of the attacks and the games. I clearly recall that from back in 2002 when I first joined LNF. Back when I was seriously nasty, still smarting from battling at a site even worse than LNF has now become.

I also pointed out to him that even before he banned me for one week, I actually HAD made vast improvements over those not-so-gentle early years. I think I repeated that after coming back. I also have publicly wondered how someone could be appointed a moderator of a forum where participation has fallen so sharply that it should be INSTANTLY apparent to any casual visitor.

Above, I mentioned bottom line. Assuming I am correct that he is 100% entitled to have AdSense or any other advertising on his site. Assuming he does in fact want maximum visitors.

Doesn't it make sense then to have a moderator whom the long-time, heavy-volume hard-core House users can actually stand? Those AdSense payouts would be huge, if SOME of those folks start getting festive again, not revolted.

But hey, it's not my site. Let him worry about his own bottom line, and wonder why nobody visits the House.
