I offer this only as a guideline, not a directive. Unlike progressives (socialists... er, communists-in-waiting) I know most here are not likely to blindly follow anything one could or might take as an order, so here goes: When speaking to a liberal/progressive/socialist democrat, one must always understand that those in that group are devoid of empathy or comprehension about things not happening every day at their residence, place of work, etc. Take the migration issue for an example; in order for the progressive to comprehend the idiocy of "open borders" here's what is necessary: Find out where that progressive lives, gather up 100 or so homeless folks and then simply let all those homeless folks gain access to the progressive's abode, food, clothing, medicine, and <GASP!> cell phone, women folk, and personal wealth.
The very same applies to the value we sane people place on protecting ourselves and our loved ones from nasty felons and imperial wrongs.
How the progressive can be forced to develop empathy in the cases of a bride, daughter, (son, even) being raped and possibly killed, I'll leave up for suggestions.
In short, if whatever being addressed does not happen in the near vicinity of a progressive he/she/it cannot begin to understand what's truly happening. The *event* has to happen to THEM, someone THEY value, or something which appears in their trough.
If anyone here has had some satisfactory experience teaching a progressive/liberal/socialist democrat the fact that there is really Right & Wrong, please share with us how that came about, OK?
