I recently got my mail in ballot but I'm probably just going to go in person so that I can taken my parents.

Over 1 million people have already voted here in Florida, though.

Got my mail in ballot a few days ago.  In CA they will continue to count ballots 17 days after 3 Nov.  I was going to vote in person, but then read the fine print.  One brings the sealed envelope with the ballot to the polling station.  At that point they will not simply accept it - no - first surrender the ballot and they give you a new one.  Even if you have ID and a record of voting before which gives your address & signature. I am too old and cranky to stand for that. (My knees also kill me after standing too long.)

So I will skip in person voting and just drop my ballot in one of the special drop boxes - which are not Post Office mailboxes.

Aside from the fact that I'm taking my parents anyway, my return envelope was sealed shut because it rained and water got into my mailbox.

So even if I wanted to mail it in I can't. We get 2 weeks of early voting, though. So I'm hoping the lines aren't too bad.

I've seen a lot of videos from Ohio and the midwest of long lines for early voting. There's a lot of enthusiasm this year, it seems

Go straight to your county registrar of voters, they'll accept it without question.
I've been doing it that way for decades. If they have questions, they have your voting record on file as well as a signature.

This enthusiasm is really impressive. It night not necessarily mean a higher turnout, though. We'll see. Got a few weeks left to vote

You do know, Conservatives historically vote in person.

I just posted that to show that over 1 million people have voted already. Showing that it might be a very high turnout.

To your point: in 2016 and 2018 more Republicans voted by mail than Democrats in Florida.

How do you know tho? How do you know they are not fake given the rash of voter fraud instances on record?

If they cannot prove who they are then many of those can and will be challenged and thrown out as they shld be.

Most of hardest hit areas in Florida by covid was in heavy democrat area in south Florida. I would expect those areas to request more mail in ballots then northern Florida and the pan handle. early voting begins soon  and i would suspect you will see the numbers move in the other direction! Also Republican voter in our state are notorious for showing up on election day, But you know that!
my family will be voting early during the first few days of early voting!

Florida only sends out absentee ballots on request and voter id confirmed! harder to harvest ballots here then some of these other states. They just arrested a man in south Florida for fraud for ordering his dead wife's ballot! They are double checking all requests and are showing they will arrest and prosecute for fraud! since the 2000 crap Florida upgraded their system pretty well. still a few problem areas in south Florida as we saw in the midterm. hopefully they have corrected that now too!
