WTF? Why would they need this at all, it's not as if someone is secretly trying to pay my taxes?
There is soooo much wrong with this! And what do you bet the CIA didn't create the entire scheme in the first place?

IRS Will Soon Require Selfies for Online Access

If you created an online account to manage your tax records with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS), those login credentials will cease to work later this year. The agency says that by the summer of 2022, the only way to log in to irs.gov will be through ID.me, an online identity verification service that requires applicants to submit copies of bills and identity documents, as well as a live video feed of their faces via a mobile device.

The only time I ever use irs.gov is to pay my quarterly estimated taxes online... If this change affects that capability as well, its back to mailing payments again...

I guess IRS wasn't part of the program....I wonder if ID.me will work if I wear my mask.  lol!

I've always thought the mask crap was to defeat facial recognition systems.

ID.me is also used to access the VA... hope they don't require that crap...

No picture yet, but I had to use it to initially log into VA a few years ago. I got an email yesterday asking me to use ID.me again as the login was about to expire; logged in with just user name and password.

It has a paywall, but I got around it.
In summary, Amazon's Rekcognition (they spelled it with a Commie K  ) software is racist.

Here's the closing paragraph.

"The researcher, who founded the Algorithmic Justice League, also disputed ID.me's claims that one-to-one face-matching doesn't suffer from some of the same bias issues, calling them a "mischaracterization of the literature." She cited a 2019 NIST report that she said showed higher rates of false positives for Asian and African-American faces relative to Caucasian faces when the researchers tested one-to-one systems.

Members of Congress have raised questions about requiring any facial recognition software to set up an IRS account online. "No one should be forced to submit to facial recognition as a condition of accessing essential government services," said Senator Ron Wyden, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, in a statement to Bloomberg News. "I'm continuing to seek more information about ID.me and other identity verification systems being used by federal agencies.""

What these little commies fail to grasp, is it's our money, and if some stranger wants to pay our taxes, who am I to complain?

The entire scenario is ludicrous, our govt could never justify why it needs a database of every citizen in the US, especially those keeping it afloat, unless they have a far more nefarious plan for the future..
They let illegals flood the border, yet they want to know who we are?

This screams of fascism and needs to stop now!
To think, it all started with Govt forcing people to create a saving account for our own good, and accepting an SSN # for life....

But I have the answer, we all simply refuse to pay taxes!!!

Since the government just prints money as needed with no regard to how much is taken in, it is really hard to believe the IRS is anything other than a way to harass those they don't like. There are other ways to tax where the amount paid would be up to the tax payer, ex. sales tax, but that would make it almost impossible for the IRS to be a weapon for the government.

That "printing money" thing started over a hundred years ago with the passage of the Sixteenth Amendment and the formation of the Federal Reserve Bank. It got a shot of rocket fuel when Richard M. Nixon (The M stands for Moron, I believe) killed the Bretton Woods agreement and set the dollar afloat on the seas of the endless "good faith and credit of the United States."

I think they should take Franklin's portrait off the hundo and replace it with Uncle Pennybags.

Doesn't anyone deal with the IRS offline? The US Postal Service has a pretty good record. I imagine the IRS has regional offices where you can go in and chat in person. Just a thought.

Most closed for the "virus", although I am sure those who worked at the IRS still went shopping at the stores who remained open, after all they still needed to buy items. Where I come from we call that a double standard. BUT, I am curious, who would walk into the IRS just to chat????
