It's no wonder businesses are fleeing IL left and right.

If you want something destroyed, leave it in the hands of a liberal.

Deep inside the heart of every Liberal, there lurks the belief that businesses don't make money by keeping expenses lower than revenues; but by picking the money off the "money tree", kept well guarded just behind corporate headquarters.

So you see, when they raise the minimum wage; that won't cause the business to lay off - or avoid hiring - anyone. They'll just have to pick more currency off the "money tree".

Or cutting hours of existing workers.

Time to start keeping track of IL. unemployment figures and business closings. I'm betting they both go up.

I won't bet against you about that.  I like to keep my money.

It doesn't make any damn sense. If a company is FORCED to pay employees more, then they will either cut hours back or lay people off to make up the lost revenue. How can libs not see this very simple economic philosophy.

I was thinking something similar to this today when on my way home I was listening to the 5 and Bob Beckel was arguing that raising the minimum wage would have no negative effects.  I guess they believe in magic because all of these ideas that raise the cost of doing business change nothing.  Raise minimum wage and people get more money end of the conversation as far as they are concerned.

I also heard another point that really makes me feel that this is just one more scam being played by the President.  They were saying that a lot of unions have a promise that they will be paid above multiples of the minimum wage so this is a way of raising the pay of union members.

BILLY Defiant

history shows that when you raise minimum wage (or increae salaries) prices of goods and services go up correspondingly.....so do taxes.
