I'm 62 years old and not once have I, or my family, or ANYONE I KNOW, even in the 'olden' days had to defend themselves with immediacy with a gun.  Now we shot a couple of raccoons attacking the trashcans back when we lived in the BOONDOCKS but that's the only time I can remember shooting at something other than a target.  So YOU DO THE MATH.  How often does one need to defend onself? Then 'ADD' to that equation--availability of the gun and the ammo, the skill, and sobriety (or just being AWAKE) to see how often MOST people have both the NEED and EFFECTIVENESS to actually pull it off!!

Bet you have a smoke detector in your house. Owning a gun is no guarantee that you can ward off an intruder. So you you are willing to give up the ability to defend yourself because it is not 100 percent effective or certain to work?  Go to some Big city and just walk around unarmed and tell me how you feel safer unarmed.  My two cousins are police in Detroit and that response time is in part due to the fact that some of the calls are about a gun fight between drug dealers.  They are in no big hurry to break that up before the shooting ends.

So you want the govt to tell you what you can or cannot eat. They say that with age comes wisdom but you certainly destroy the validity of that statement.  Shot gun at 500 yards well you can stand at one end of a field and me 500 yards away and you can fire at will.

Seems like Politix is saying the confiscation is true but it is no big deal because it is just enforcement of an old law.  Wish Obama was aggressive in actually enforcing our immigration laws.

"An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity."
