Ok ok, so yes there are those who would and could make the case that Obama's the gangster, and Putin the prankster,,,,but seriously folks, this is yet again another instance like the now infamous "Gibson Guitar case" wherein the Obama administration attempted to prosecute Gibson Guitar company, for violation of not our law, not international law, but the law of an entirely different nation.

Which has zero jurisdiction where the alleged "criminal activity" took place.

Seriously, someone who knows something about the law, due process, and basic issues within the law such as jurisdiction of the sovereign, residence of the citizen etc....needs to be put in the White House poste haste....cause this bunch in there now, has zero clue....Transcript: Obama announces sanctions after Crimea referendum

QuoteFirst, as authorized by the executive order I signed two weeks ago, we are imposing sanctions on specific individuals responsible for undermining the sovereignty, territorial integrity and government of Ukraine. We're making it clear that there are consequences for their actions.

Second, I have signed a new executive order that expands the scope of our sanctions. As an initial step, I'm authorizing sanctions on Russian officials, entities operating in the arms sector in Russia, and individuals who provide material support to senior officials of the Russian government.

I'm terribly sorry ladies and gents, but nothing in American law, or our Constitution gives the President the authority to by executive order act as the judge, the jury, and the executioner.

In other words, nothing, nowhere gives the President the legal authority to just summarily, sign an executive order, and without any legal due process whatsoever impose some sort of legal sanction upon the politicians or citizens of another entirely sovereign in it's own right, nation/state.

There is zero legal justification or basis for such. In fact if the same were done, to say Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, you can bet your bottom code pink dollar this liberal bunch in Washington would be screaming to high heaven how illegal and frankly if not so dangerous to a free republic such as ours, despotic and laughable act such a thing is.

Truly may God in Heaven, help us to just get through to the next Presidential election, so we who in America still like the rule of law, and not the rule of the jungle, can go, cast our votes, and get these liberals out of our government.

And hopefully preserve what little is left of our free, open, honest, republic.

Oh and one more point about this...from the article...
QuoteTonight, Vice President Biden departs for Europe, where he will meet with the leaders of our NATO allies, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. And I'll be traveling to Europe next week. Our message will be clear. As NATO allies, we have a solemn commitment to our collective defense, and we will uphold this commitment.
Uh ok, so what...does this have to do with the Ukraine, the Ukraine is NOT a nato nation, there is no "commitment of collective defense" to uphold there in the first place as such.

Not only that, but really seriously. As evidenced by the fact that this President won't even act to stop or stem the flood of people who are entering this nation illegally and are thus also technically "invading" the United States.

This President clearly will not act to defend the and uphold the commitment of "collective defense" for our own group of nations, which we call states...so who the hell, or rather, does anyone really believe he would "act" or in other words go to war, to do so for another nation such as oh England or France, or Germany, or Japan, or Israel?

I can tell you now, given he won't act to preserve and uphold the commitment of "mutual defense" when it comes to those nations we call states that make up our larger nation.

Such as Florida, or California, or New Mexico or yes even Texas, I for one don't believe for a second he would do so for England, or Japan, or Israel, or anyone of the many other nations which with, just as in the case of "NATO" we have "pacts of mutual defense" (treaties) with.

Any American should be able to see it, just as Russia does, as proven by their actions in the Crimea, and just as China does, given their recent actions in the sea of Japan, or anyone of a host of other nations where despots and dictators are "testing" how far they can push this pushover we have for a President.

Putin is first and foremost a communist, and has the recreation of the USSR as his long view.

This is aces for Obama.  He will quietly allow and even support in quiet / hidden ways, whatever Putin does toward a resurgent communism in Europe.  We already see a pile of American cash heading that way, which will end up wherever Putin decides.

All we have is Obama's promise to Medvedev, fully recorded live.  As we say in other threads, most LIV are busy pretending this didn't happen for all to see.

Communism and Marxism are world- wide, centuries- long pursuits.  Obama and Putin are fellow travelers, pushing it along for as long as they have power.

Before we get too carried away, it is important, I think, to note that Gibson was accused and prosecuted for violating the Lacey Act, a piece of legislation originally passed by the U.S. Congress and signed into law in 1900. The specific provisions of the Lacey Act in question are relatively new, having been part of amendments to the Lacey Act passed by the Democrat congress in 2008 and which became law after Pelosi's House and Reid's Senate overrode G. W. Bush's veto. Nevertheless, Gibson was prosecuted for violating U.S. law -- a shitty law that relies completely on foreign law, yes, but still U.S. law. [/nitpick1]

It's good that you're among friends. Almost anywhere else on the web, using the phrase "rule of the jungle" would earn you endless criticism and derision and you would be christened with the world's most overused kiss-of-death sobriquet -- RA-A-A-A-A-A-A-ACIST!!! [/nitpick2]
