Title: Geithner says gov't will borrow from federal employee pension fund to avoid pass
Post by: walkstall on January 15, 2013, 08:26:08 PM
Now they're robbing the federal employee pension.
Will they like the IOU's.  The Union should love this.

snip~
WASHINGTON - Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner says the government has begun borrowing from the federal employee pension fund to keep operating without surpassing its debt limit.

Geithner says in a letter to congressional leaders that the move will free up $156 billion in borrowing authority while Congress debates increasing the $16.4 trillion debt limit.

And the Republican House is supposed to rush to save the Democrat supporting government unions because? I mean beside the fact that the GOP is the stupid party/sarc.

It's called robbing Peter to pay Paul.  I don't think Peter is going to be happy with them IOU's.    Where oh where can the union steal from now?

When I exceed the speed limit can we just raise it a little each time so I can avoid a citation? I mean after all it is a limit and this seems to be the way we handle limits in government so why can't it work for me?

Simple.  Whenever you're exceeding the speed limit, as soon as you hear that police car siren or spot those flashing red and blue lights, issue your own Executive Order raising the speed limit from whatever it was to whatever you're doing.

That's how Dear Leader does it.

I'm still waiting for them to pay back the money they "borrowed" from the social security trust fund.

I can't believe the government was wise enough to set aside future pension payments. I am chalking this up as just another lie from this administration.

That's a great point. At least at the state level, these funds have already been raided.

This is great.  If there's a single, complete brain to be found among the GOP leadership, you can not beat this for Obama-Dem self destruction.

Slow roll this to death, and let them go down this path with a gusto.

Same with the threats to make cuts that will hurt the most, if the dems don't get what they want.

By all means, let Obama & Co. cut security and safety, and everything people really need.......while they continue funding freebies for islamic fanatics, failing green companies, crap like electric cars.

We couldn't shoot them in the foot enough times to equal their own self-inflicted wounds, simply by letting them do all this.

STFU and step aside, Boehner & buddies.

I wonder what federal employee unions think about this? If we do not hear any outrage from them we will know it is just another scam.

It's a tough nut to crack.  These ARE the folks who can't believe that anything Obama does can ever be wrong.

So they're in a tight spot if he's stealing their money, lol.

AKA cognitive dissonance.

"He can't be wrong.....why do I feel funny when I see him taking my retirment account ??"

I have a good idea.  Just tell the cop that the President has raised the speed limit by Executive Order and you were not exceeding the new limit.  Let him mull that one over.  Don't call me for bail money though.
