The Government Stole It!!!
This is what it's like living under socialism, you own nothing and you'll be happy!

From Miracle to Misery—Farmer Finds $4 Billion in Gold, Only to Watch It Be Taken Away

According to French law, all underground resources do not belong to the owners of the land, but to the State. This means that Michel Dupont cannot start mining on his own initiative, even if the deposit is on his land. This is a somewhat complex situation for the landowner.

Before authorising any project, the government must carry out technical tests and environmental impact studies, as required by regulations on the protection of natural heritage. The aim is to avoid irreversible damage to the ecosystem, especially in rural areas or areas of high ecological value.

Given the magnitude of the discovery, opinions are mixed among the inhabitants of the village and the different actors involved. On the one hand, environmental groups have expressed their concern about the effects that large-scale mining activity could have on the environment. On the other hand, there are those who believe that this is an opportunity that would generate wealth and hundreds or thousands of jobs as well as revitalise an ageing region.

The entire nightmare here.

In recent years a huge mineral deposit was discovered in MN. The state will not allow it to be mined as it is 'near' sensitive ares like the boundary waters.

Also Death Valley US has large rare earth deposits but this will not be mined as this is  a 'pristine' area.

This was the mid 70s?
A friend of mine owned a locksmith company that he inherited from his dad. He often got calls to open safes for different agencies; he was that good.
He said in one case he opened a floor safe, as soon as it was open, they dragged him away as two other agents grabbed really heavy bags out and dropped them on the floor.
He knew it was gold coins from the sound when it hit the floor. He said there were several bags as he looked back before they escorted him out.
He knew that gold was about to be split up by the team. Worth millions.

He said I'm gonna be a cop. He did become a cop, he got rich within ten years. I asked him how he got so rich on a cops salary?
He smiled and said Remember the floor safe, winked, and walked away.

I no longer trust any govt agency.

It's funny, I was going to start a thread asking, "When did you finally wake up to govt corruption"?
That was my first time, when my 'Friend," a guy I really admired, turned out to be no better than the thug on the street.

Whatever happened to simply doing the Right thing when no one was looking?

By the way, that gold? It was to go to the family, it was from the grandfather from the 1800s. This was Folsom Calif.
The family went to court, they lost due to a lack of evidence, even though they had all seen it.

I recall a story a few years back where some guy found caches of gold and silver coins on his property in (I think) California, he was dumb enough to consult his Lawyer who filed a claim in court and the Govt stepped in an seized it all saying it was loot from a bank robbery in the 1920's or something. I don't remember the final outcome but the lesson is, if you find something NEVER TELL A LAWYER or THE GOVT.

My own personal experience with Govt idiots was during relic hunting for Civil war artifacts back about 1978. Me and a friend were on his Wife's Grandfathers property near the Antietam battlefield. Gramps had about three acres on the public road and near the C&O canal and the Potomac river. You could walk across the road and fish. But we were using our metal detectors clearly on Private property, a hundred feet or so from the Canal road and twice that from the C& O canal, which is Park Service Property.

ALong comes a Park Service ranger in a jeep, sits there and watches us for a few moments and sees us dig up a few things. He comes over onto Gramps driveway and asks us what we are doing. Me, the ultimate smart ass says "digging a hole to China" with a grin. Trying to be decent, I show him a few civil war bullets and odds and ends from my pocket. He says what I'm doing is illegal and he is going to confiscate the relics as they were once "government property". I thought he was joking but my Friend comes over and tells him to GTF out of here this is private property.

Ranger Rick asks us "Do you have permission from the owner?"  "yeah" my Friend replies and says these Bullets are from the Confederate army, since the Confederate Govt no long exists and was never part of the US Federal Govt anyhow its up for grabs.

A few more exchanges back and forth, we were about to badge the Guy and tell him we were both Cops and we understood the Niceties of jurisdiction but about that time Gramps comes out of the house and start yelling at the Ranger who tucks tail and leaves.

A few years later another friend of mine is Metal detecting on PRAIVATE PRORETY with WRITTEN PERMISSION from the land owner Near the Spottsylvania Courthouse Battlefield several hundred yards away from the Park Boundry when Two Park Rangers arrest HIM AT GUN POINT. Seized his metal detector, his relics, find his Police ID. Take him in front of the Magistrate and charge him with violating ARPA (Archeological Resources Protection ACT....a felony. My Friend goes to court, has the land owner come testify and has pictures, measurements, Plat maps, all which clearly show He was on Private property with permission of the land owner. Judge dismisses the case, my friend gets his metal detector back but NOT the artifacts. The Park Service is exercising eminent domain over battlefield relics of historic value so close to Federal land, claiming jurisdiction. Long story short My friend didn't persue the matter but he should have sued the Park Service back to the stone age for false arrest and imprisonment and theft of personal property.

When did cops become the adversary?
When I had a shield, everyone was still friendly, but sometime in the 80s, the Fed started arming police as if they were headed for the frontlines.
Everything seemed to change in such a short while, then it seemed as if both parties pushed the idea of "Us vs Them mentality.
Now we have First Amendment auditors reeducating law enforcement on their legal duties where the Constitution is concerned. Good or bad, it is what it is. It's now "Us vs Them", meaning the Govt. is now the enemy!

When liberal city councils started picking out the police chef. When liberals started picking leaders for the FBI, and the CIA. When liberal D.A started going after the police for doing their job. When good citizens sat back and said nothing.

All part of destroying the middle class. Somehow liberals think when only the super rich and the poor exist, they will see massive wealth distribution. (Jmho there). What they will see instead will be what little the poor has will be distributed to the very rich.

The likes of Soros and his kind hate and fear the middle class. We're mobil, educated, self sustaining, and armed.

True, they did it to us under LBJ, Carter, Reagan pulled us out for the 80s and 90s, then Bush, Clinton, Bush again, Obozo, Biden, and yet we still manage to rebound, especially under Trump.
Looking back, I don't think there would have been a Trump if not for Reagan. Reagan reminded us what being an American really meant.
