IMHO, on one hand, if the democrats had somebody as a can't miss for '24 they would dump ol demented Joe in a heartbeat. On the other hand, it's getting to the point the dem's can not win, period. So why waste an upcoming sure thing when the chances might be better in '28. So might as well lose with the old fart and blame the loss on him and not the party.

And that is what we call covering all the bases.
