Great!  I thought we were told that the CDC had everything under control and that our hospitals and medical personnel were able to handle things so Ebola doesn't turn into a pandemic.

Gee, why don't we STOP and BAN all travel from Sierre Leone, Liberia, Guinnea?  That seems to me only logical.  Our government is playing Russian Roulette with our lives!!  We have enough to worry about with EV68.

Ebola: Five ways the CDC got it wrong

By Elizabeth Cohen, Senior Medical Correspondent

...."Here are five things they say the CDC is getting wrong.

1. The CDC is telling possible Ebola patients to "call a doctor."

2. The CDC director says any hospital can care for Ebola patients...

3. The CDC didn't encourage the "buddy system" for doctors and nurses.

4. CDC didn't encourage doctors to develop Ebola treatment guidelines....

5. The CDC put too much trust in protective gear....

This is getting ridiculous.  Even if these people don't have ebola, there will be added unnecessary costs to the cities, hospitals and airlines, not to mention the hassle and added worry for passengers.

United Arab Emirates flight quarantined at Logan after sick passengers reported

QuoteLogan International Airport officials are sending in a team in full hazmat suits after reports that five people on board a United Arab Emirates flight from Dubai are exhibiting flu-like symptoms.

None of the five sick people had been traveling in West Africa where an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus has already killed more than 3,000 people, according to Matthew Brelis, spokesman for Massport, which operates the airport. However, out of an abundance of caution, airport officials decided to isolate the sick passengers and evaluate their condition.

Sick Passenger Causes Ebola Scare at LAX
Quote
"There is no risk of Ebola infection to any of the passengers or crew on the flight," the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health said in a statement.

The passenger, described as a woman in her 20s, had been to South Africa, not the area of western Africa where the Ebola virus has been rampant, Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Jaime Moore said.

You know what their stock answer is  ?   "The GOP cut funding and caused the whole thing".

They already have campaign ads out claiming this, for the upcoming elections.  And it's being eaten up by the faithful, creating a whole new artificial reality.

If we don't start countering this crap HARD, and blasting Obama, Clinton, et al.......we won't take jack schite on the senate side, and will break even or lose ground in the house.

Defeat from the jaws of victory.....happens just about every time.  All we have to do is sit on our asses, and watch the dems lie cheat & steal their way to victory.

kit saginaw

No pun intended, but I think this is the last gasp for bureaucratic-style disease 'control' and erstwhile crisis management.  It's been all about explanations, explanation-updates, blaming, and lecturing.  Some of the CDC's live press-conferences feature 'experts' speaking from a remote location via phone, sans questions allowed.  For all we know, they're tape-recordings.

How long have we been hearing about government agencies blowing their budgets on BS now. Here's an idea, instead of investigating guns and school lunches, how about our Center for DISEASE Control, spending the money on DISEASE!

The Facts About Ebola Funding.

snip~
Yet another American has contracted Ebola, a grim reminder of just how important it is that our public health systems function at the highest possible level. Unfortunately, much of the rhetoric about this deadly disease is misleading, if not dishonest.

In a paid speech last week, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attempted to link spending restraints enacted by Congress—and signed into law by President Obama—to the fight against Ebola. Secretary Clinton claimed that the spending reductions mandated under sequestration "are really beginning to hurt," citing the fight against Ebola: "The CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] is another example on the response to Ebola—they're working heroically, but they don't have the resources they used to have."

Her argument, like those made by others, misses the point. In recent years, the CDC has received significant amounts of funding. Unfortunately, however, many of those funds have been diverted away from programs that can fight infectious diseases, and toward programs far afield from the CDC's original purpose.

The dems just started this distraction today and you are already saying the GOP has jerked defeat out of the joys of victory. Get positive. This BS will not fly. What all this shows is how incompetent the Obama administration is as they cannot organize a one car funeral. People will want to know why the us has not cut off flights like British Airways has and why Obama is sending 4,000 American heroes to be exposed to Ebola as the military cannot kill it with weapons.

I wouldn't be surprised if in a couple of weeks; right around election time the CDC comes out with a warning to stay put ... perhaps delaying the elections?

Which is a flat out lie...the GOP hasn't cut anything...they can't, not with headcase Harry and the cabal of Obamao stooges in the senate.

The Dims know they OWN Ebola, they allowed it into the country and it has every sign of going off the charts.

Suz, get off the delayed election deal. Obama is not running and he doesn't care about the dems who might lose.
