Knowing just how deadly this disease is, as well as trained to take all precautions. How is it possible for this professional to become infected?

Lets see, gloves, mask, washed with "Soap and Water" and still managed to contract a disease idiots still claim can't be transmitted by air?

Completion555 should know. He should be here shortly to tell us.

New Jersey enforces isolation order for NBC crew.

snip~
New Jersey officials have issued a mandatory quarantine order for members of an NBC crew that was exposed to a cameraman with Ebola.

The order went into effect Friday night after state health officials said a voluntary 21-day isolation agreement was violated.

QuoteCiting privacy concerns, department officials wouldn't give further details, including who violated the voluntary agreement and how the state learned of the violation.

How nice. Leave people wondering. "privacy concerns", my ass.

I see that what is described as one of the "healthcare workers" who cared for that POS Duncan has contracted Ebola.

Other than that, it's all 'hush-hush' for now.

http://www.foxnews.com/health/2014/10/12/health-care-worker-at-dallas-hospital-tests-positive-for-ebola/

They are BLAMING this person (I think a nurse) calling it "a clear breach of protocol."

Someone who went to work and had to CARE for someone with this deadly disease.  Not the media and all the other spewing the party line that "we can't isolate it."  They don't have to go NEAR or CARE for someone with a potentially fatal disease.

Rather than say "we should ISOLATE this disease" yesterday, they say someone "breached protocol."  Even with all the "protective gear," the US health care system, soap and water, etc. she contracted this disease.

Just be prepared for more blaming the victim instead of the reprehensible decision to allow our citizens to contract this disease.

As a nurse, any blaming will make me want to explode.

I was just reading about that. They're saying that there was a "clear breach" of protocol, but they won't say what the breach was.

I'll go with what the nurse says before I'd believe the CDC.

I'm with you on this. If I give you insufficient/minimal protection and you catch the virus, of course I'll blame you, not that it's your fault, but CYA is now protocol.

Point is, if they really want to assure safety, these hazmat suits need to be pressurized, just like the suits the CDC uses in their labs, or Intel uses in their clean rooms.
Fact is, these nurses are not being given adequate protective gear.

I still say STOP THE TRAVEL NOW.

Think about this.  Now they have another case, with all the possible contacts she had.  How long before it can get totally out of control?  A few more cases and exposures puts the number into the HUNDREDS and climbing.

If they don't care about the human toll, how about what this will COST?  How about when it becomes overwhelming to keep up with?  How many more mistakes and "breaks in protocol" will there be?

The supreme ARROGANCE of this crowd is astounding.  And do the "powers that be" think THEY are immune from this deadly disease?  They think they are so SPECIAL that a virus can't outsmart them?

I put this 100% on the current administration for doing this to its citizens.

You're thinking is all wrong! You're thinking like a common sense AMERICAN who cares about her fellow citizens.

Our country is run by Liberals/Progressives (we have Progressives in BOTH Parties). What motivates them is increasing Godvernment control over the lives of the Subjects (never let a crisis go to waste).  This is a great OPPORTUNITY for them.  Don't expect common sense from these folks. They only want more dependency on the RULING Class.

Now write a letter to Obama and THANK him for all he's done.

The nurse was wearing a MASK and still contracted it! And idiots still say Ebola can't be transmitted telepathically!

Let's see, if she was wearing gloves, it wasn't transmitted directly, if she was wearing a mask it wasn't transmitted by air, then there is no other option but it being spread telepathically! She is a trained medical professional, there is no way she breached protocol!

I think I remembered reading that anyone caring for the Obola patients, have to dawn full protective gear, meaning a hazmat suit.

So how could it have been transferred to her? The hazmat would prevent even airborn transmission right?

As far as I can tell, there is no written protocol from the CDC when caring for an Ebola in the clinical setting, i.e. hospital, E.R., Urgent Care facility.

It would appear that Level Four biocontainment is required for maximum effectiveness/safety when working with Ebola in any setting. Anything less is a crapshoot.

As for the number of hospital biocontainment beds available.........

That's the point, no one seems to be able to say, except for blaming the victim for not following protocol.
You may find this interesting, because claims are still being made that it's not yet airborne.....

The CDC recommends placing patients with suspected or confirmed Ebola in a single-patient room and instituting contact and droplet precautions (1). These entail donning a fluid-impermeable gown, gloves, a surgical mask, and either goggles or a face shield. If the patient has "copious" secretions, the CDC also recommends shoe and leg coverings. If an aerosol-generating procedure is planned (such as intubation or bronchoscopy), the CDC recommends wearing an N95 mask and placing the patient in a negative-pressure room. Despite this guidance, many hospitals are planning to place all patients in negative-pressure rooms at all times, to compel all personnel to wear full-body hazardous material (HazMat) suits, and to require N95 masks or powered air-purifying respirators rather than surgical masks at all times.

The Facts About Ebola Funding.

snip~
Yet another American has contracted Ebola, a grim reminder of just how important it is that our public health systems function at the highest possible level. Unfortunately, much of the rhetoric about this deadly disease is misleading, if not dishonest.

In a paid speech last week, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton attempted to link spending restraints enacted by Congress—and signed into law by President Obama—to the fight against Ebola. Secretary Clinton claimed that the spending reductions mandated under sequestration "are really beginning to hurt," citing the fight against Ebola: "The CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] is another example on the response to Ebola—they're working heroically, but they don't have the resources they used to have."

Her argument, like those made by others, misses the point. In recent years, the CDC has received significant amounts of funding. Unfortunately, however, many of those funds have been diverted away from programs that can fight infectious diseases, and toward programs far afield from the CDC's original purpose.
