Why libs and liberal Republicans love Trump. From Mother Jones

He thinks affirmative action is okay.
He would fund Planned Parenthood except for abortion. (This is current federal policy, though Trump doesn't seem to know it.)
He supports a progressive income tax. He does not favor a flat tax.
He doesn't believe you should be able to fire someone just for being gay.
He doesn't want to cut Social Security or Medicare.
He's in favor of a ban on assault weapons.
He invited Bill and Hillary Clinton to his wedding.
He doesn't "fully" believe in supply-side economics.
He wants to "lead from behind" on Ukraine. Trump believes that Germany should take the lead on Ukraine.
He hates the Iran deal, but he wouldn't abrogate it after taking office.
Even one or two of these would sink any other Republican candidate. But 10? Even if Trump's appeal is mostly based on bluster and affinity politics, how long can he last before his fans begin to wonder just how conservative he really is?

I agree, but he knew like the rest of us, the Dim party is clinically dead.

Then why aren't Cruz & Co. attacking him over some of these assertions? 

I won't start bashing Trump until he does.  The assertions have the look of flagrant egregiousness.  -Yet some haven't even been brought-up by the media in any of the Republican-debates.

Look how Mother Jones frames the assertion in the 'present tense'...  He's in favor of a ban on assault-weapons...  That was in 2000, before 9/11.  And they don't even bother to define 'assault weapon'.  To quote Trump:  To the Left, every gun is an assault-weapon.

I can pick-apart all of Mother Jones' assertions and expose the hillary-cheerleading hypocrisy imbedded therein.  I also have plenty of verbal-ammo to use against Trump once Cruz begins unleashing broadsides.  Until then, I'm in defense against leftist-media mode.

I am all with him on Ukraine. Germany and France alone have more people and money than Russia. Let the Europeans handle this instead of waiting on us to spend our treasure and maybe blood.

I don't think Mother Jones got the leftist memo on Trump.
When leftist media starts vetting Trump the way they did Palin, then I'll take his candidacy seriously, but until then he's nothing less than a way of splitting the GOP vote and heralding in a Klinton match up.
Yes, the left knows that half Trump's support comes from libs, the other half, moderate Pubs smatterd with a sprinkling of pissed off Conservatives.
They also know, like RINO of the past few decades will drive the base to stay home.

Not only does Cruaz support a flat tax, he's a proponent of eliminating the IRS and killing Commiecare.
Trump on the other hand thinks govt can fix both. Does that sound like a Conservative stance?
