Cruz Walks Tightrope Between Trump and 2020

This is the night that millions have been waiting for. One thing this article and several others like it are missing; the point that Cruz is loyal to the conservative movement, conservatism itself, the Constitution and not necessarily loyal to the Republican brand.  He has a chance to give the speech of his lifetime tonight; I'm hoping he steers clear of endorsing Trump.

Cruz walks tightrope between Trump and 2020

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz galvanized millions of grassroots followers and is almost certain to be a front-runner four years from now should Donald Trump lose. It's a prospective campaign that his aides discuss openly. His associates have shown an unmatched ability to organize and wreak havoc on the convention floor, for better or for worse. And he managed to earn a prime-time speaking slot without having to endorse the man who actually won.

Cruz is not expected to endorse Trump, a source familiar with the speech said. But people close to the campaign hope that he can give a speech that does not alienate the party's Trump loyalists -- even if Cruz himself does not say the word "Trump" from the stage.
A Cruz adviser said the speech, which he wrote himself, would be optimistic and about the path forward. Cruz will encourage Republicans to not grow dejected about conservatism's future -- similar to the well-received remarks he delivered in this city last week to the influential Council for National Policy.
The Cruz campaign declined to comment on speech....

Regardless of whether Trump loses or wins, Cruz should run in 2020.

I keep hearing this so called "does not alienate the party's Trump loyalists" BS.
Lets clear this BS up once and for all, there is no Trump majority in the party, if anything, it's maybe 10% of the party, a minority like that of the RNC/GOP leadership that holds control over the GOP purse/committee seats etc. as a way of quelling dissent.

I'd say there are more Reps afraid of party leadership, and it's these spineless turds that give the leftists in the party control over the majority.
My point is. What the party is doing is akin to the reading of it's own epitaph, while setting the final nail in the coffin.
After all this screwing over of the base, even the spineless will find strength in joining the Conservatives and bringing an end to rule by the DNC.
Either they develop a spine or start looking for a job, because voters have had their fill.

Does anyone know about what time Ted Cruz will speak tonight...?

Shortly after the GOP loses by a landslide this fall, the GOP will cease to exist. That's how they formed in the first place, that's how they'll end. In any case watch Trump cut of Cruz's microphone, otherwise known as committing political suicide.

Cruz got booed a lot during his speech.  All the talking heads were going on about how he ruined his career.

The danger to America is not Barack Obama but the citizens capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency.

I just bust out laughing when I hear the Trump-a-loons trying to unseat Cruz from his rock solid principles - last night he demonstrated who the man-in-the-room really is.

He make it clear he stands on the Constutition, and he's not gonna bend over for some bully.
How many times have we heard, you gotta punch a bully in the face to shut him up?

I heard absolutely nothing last night that ANY Trump-a-loon could raise a serious objection to, absolutely nothing.  This morning there's been radio hosts who claim to be Conservatives, openly mocking Ted.

I don't want him to hurt himself.  I just don't think he should have given a speech at a Trump event.

We EXPECT to hear days worth of criticism against Ted Cruz.
He just "won" for standing on principles.

Donald had ample opportunity to make nice before the convention - and didn't.

Consider where John Kasisch is now..... MIA from the GOP event (it's not a Trump event).

That's because it was an RNC sponsored Lib Trump rally, Hell, even Rush is feeding the lie that it's over for Cruz.
I expected exactly what is happening, they are so afraid of Conservatives they must, for all intents and purposes, kill off the person we chose to lead the nation back to prosperity.
Listened to about 20 minutes of Rush, and in the decades I've listened to Rush, I've never heard such a litany of mouth breather callers in a succession to his show.

Think TEA and how the GOP aligned with the Dim party's use of the IRS in an effort kill off the movement.
This is it for the Establishment, they will pull every dirty trick known to man to stop the Conservative movement.
