The Cruz and Kasich campaigns have agreed to work together to stop Trump. To go with the originally posted Cruz Campaign statement, below is part of the statement from the Kasich campaign.

Kasich Campaign Statement:

We are very comfortable with our delegate position in Indiana already, and given the current dynamics of the primary there, we will shift our campaign's resources west and give the Cruz campaign a clear path in Indiana.

Cruz Campaign Statement:

To ensure that we nominate a Republican who can unify the Republican Party and win in November, our campaign will focus its time and resources in Indiana and in turn clear the path for Gov. Kasich to compete in Oregon and New Mexico, and we would hope that allies of both campaigns would follow our lead. In other states holding their elections for the remainder of the primary season, our campaign will continue to compete vigorously to win

I would have thought New Mexico would have been Cruz land. That's why I'm  not in charge...
You make me wanna roll my windows down and Cruz!

Less than 24 hours after this "truce" between the 2 camps, Kasich was asked who people should vote for in Indiana. Kasich responded saying that people in Indiana should still vote for him. :glare:

Kasich on whether Indiana voters should vote for him or Cruz:

"They ought to vote for me"

Im not sure how I feel about this joining forces between Cruz and Kasich. I guess to a degree it makes sense in Indiana, but I dont see how this makes sense for Cruz in Oregon and New Mexico. Both of those states are already favored for Cruz, especially Oregon. Why on earth would Cruz be willing to pull out resources from those states???

I guess to get Kasich a second place finish to further block Trump.

Curious. What was the purpose of this post?
FWIW, bumping ones own thread is frowned upon, they're either interesting/popular, or not, they stand on their own merit.

ah....mmmm.... is this going to "work"...?

What am I missing here...?

I kinda get it, where Kasich is strong, swing the Cruz voters to Kasich; and where Cruz is strong, swing the Kasich voters to Cruz.  Interesting idea to block Trump, except, if I lived in New Mexico (MEH, maybe) or Oregon (not a chance) - I'd have to be drugged, drunk or wifey threatening to leave me, to vote for Kasich or Trump!  and it'd still have to be an accident!

I gotta be missing something - this sounds like a hair-brain idea to me.

That's the only thing I can think of is to get Kasich 2nd place delegates keeping Trump further from the finish line.

The purpose of the post is to inform those who post on this board of what took place between both campaigns, just in case they were not aware of it previous. Also it gives posters here a place to discuss the 2 campaigns joining a "truce".

Also, I wasnt bumping my own thread. I was simply posting something in the thread that was relevant to the 2 campaigns "truce". There was a double post of mine that I meant to edit but somehow I hit quote instead and didnt realize it, so it posted again accidently.

Is there a particular reason that I need to continue to explain the reason to every post I make or threads I start???

Cruz this morning insisted this is strictly about resource allocation. Maybe Cruz is so far up in New Mexico and Oregon that Cruz pulling resources from those 2 states wont matter because internal polling is showing Cruz with massive leads in both of those states...? I dont know

Just heard the Rush explanation for this.
He actually made the claim that Trump holds the narrative of an inevitable win, and that this association was a way of creating the illusion that it's not over, that Cruz can still beat Trump.

What a load of bull shit! Rush is full of shit, the majority opinion is that Trump is in serious trouble and knows it, that a makeover to appear more Presidential is necessary, because the real Trump is seen as a buffoon.

I pointed it out, because you, more than any other member tend to "accidentally" quote themselves.
