The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is refusing to enforce California Gov. Gavin Newsom's (D) order requiring residents to wear face coverings in public as part of an effort to combat the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

The Sheriff's Office said it would be "inappropriate" to criminally enforce Newsom's mandate or punish individuals and businesses for not complying.

Sheriff Scott Jones said in a statement Friday:

Due to the minor nature of the offense, the potential for negative outcomes during enforcement encounters, and anticipating the various ways in which the order may be violated, it would be inappropriate for deputies to criminally enforce the Governor's mandate.

Im glad the sheriff  has common sense. Its easier for a sheriff to refuse  because they are elected whereas a  cop can be fired, though cops  can just  ignore enforcing  it.

My employment services are conducted in Illinois. Since Covid-19 became an 'opportunity' for ambitious leftist politicians, I've been defying the 'mask-mandate' since day one (excluding Walmart as they have hired security posted at the doors)
There has been little opposition to my defiance even with police in certain areas from time to time. I did however, have a confrontation at Walmart with 'security'. They asked about my mask and I quickly lifted my t-shirt up over my mouth and walk by them. They didn't know what to do, so they did nothing.

Aside: how can an officer of the law hassle someone for not abiding the  'mask-mandate' in good conscience, while looters and arsonists run free on the streets? Good cops aren't wired that way.

This has a lot to do with police rebelling, or literally walking off the job. In good conscience, no one in their Right mind could arrest someone for a First Amendment violation.
That's how I view this, my not wearing a mask is my way of speaking our over tyranny.

The 'illusion' of 'crisis' is a powerful thing. For me, it serves as the primary catalyst for deepening the level of animus I have toward 'media & corporate conglomerates.'  They're the only ones capable of projecting such deception on a national/global scale.

Agree! The Marxists has funneled money from around the globe, buying into American corporations with one goal, destroying American culture.
I doubt they ever expected a Trump to enter the fray, bringing the silent majority to stand up against these Marxists.
