Curious to hear what everyone thinks.  What should Cruz do now?  I think Trump gets a short term bump but is there anything he should even do?  If you think so, what advice would you give him.  If I were Cruz, I'd merely stay the course.  Trump may have played this card a bit too soon.  What is there about a week or so to go in Iowa.  Cruz can just double down.  His core supporters aren't going to be persuaded by Palin.  Let's fact it.  The more she speaks the more she grates on your nerves.  Just listened to her in Oklahoma and I forgot how annoying she can sometimes be with her platitudes.  But that's all I'll say about her. I won't turn my back on her like she did to Cruz.  Hell people are worrying more about the stock market and their 401Ks right now.

I seldom watch SNL but this Saturday's show has to be a riot. I'll bet Lorne Michaels is on the phone with Tina Fey begging her right now to come on the show.  This may all backfire on Trump.  Cruz supporters aren't as fickle as Trump's.  They stick to their principles.

Agree. He should stay the course. Don't allow Trump to dictate a quick reaction that could lead to long term failure. Just keep his strategy which has gotten him where he is now - #2 in a field of ten plus. He can concentrate on SC after IA and NH.

Cruz's campaign has sort of ticked me off.

when I got an email, where his campaign wanted me to give them 35 bucks, for a stupid useless  I support Ted card.

AFTER I'd already told them look, my only income is my veterans disability. I can't afford to throw money into the coffers of any candidate. So please stop sending me emails asking for money. Sending me emails to make me aware of an issue, or something going on is fine. But all they do is send them asking for money I can't give him.

As a Senator that man makes about four times what I make in a month's time. Yet what does his campaign do, turn around and send me a email asking for money.

I would hate to see Senator Cruz lose a vote, because his campaign staff can't get it through their skulls that some American's simply can't afford to throw away their hard earned money to a political campaign.
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html
And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)

I'd sat throw it away and don't let it upset you.  Sure he's better off than many of us but he's up against a self funded billionaire and there are many groups who solicit money on a candidate's behalf.  I would't hold that against Cruz.

I'll stick with the same advice I've been giving all along -- attack Trump's populist "Reagan Democrat" support. Of course on the ground he's already set to turn out the Christian vote to maximum effect, but as far as his rhetoric and ad spots, fight for the mantle of anti-establishment voice of the people. He could, should, make an ad out of that clip Solar posted in the other thread -- Trump spouting off about being the candidate of the establishment. Choke him on his own words.

I'd agree that Ted has to now take of the gloves.   He's been respectful of this buffoon and it's gotten him nowhere. He has to be methodical but keeping in mind their is no tomorrow or do-overs.

It's all about Iowa now. I think he's still in New Hampshire right now, but needs to hustle his butt back over to corn country as quick as possible. Doesn't matter how much he wins Iowa by, but he has to win. Then New Hampshire doesn't matter. He's sitting pretty there, in third place right now. Kasich is a solid second, incredibly, but it's of no consequence. Third behind Kasich is effectively the same thing as second place. As long as he beats Bush/Christie/Rubio, that's a solid win.

He looks like he's trying to finesse that 1st place/3rd place parlay -- I just hope he isn't cutting it too close in Iowa.

If I was Mr.Cruz I would get aggressive like hell. I would point out Trumps progressive stands one issue at a time. Like pro choice. http://dailycaller.com/2015/07/08/donald-trump-in-1999-i-am-very-pro-choice-video/

I would lay it out in layman's terms and tell the voters that abortion kills babies and let Trump and his new found friend Sarah defend that before the voters. Then go down the list one liberal issue at a time.

I wouldn't let Trump have breathing rooms. Hit him hard and hit him strong. Then our Tea Party darling can dust off her ruby red pumps, tap them three times and get her liberal backing ass back to Alaska where she can start to figure where she went wrong with her state's ObamaCare. http://www.redstate.com/2016/01/20/meet-last-liberal-person-sarah-palin-endorsed/

If Cruz hangs on in Iowa and NH which I think he will, the south is going to be good to him. The Conservative Tea Party are strong folks. Now it time to get even stronger. It's time for Ted Cruz to show the world he's a strong Conservative leader.

Well said and he's letting Trump outshine him but Trump will never be able to outsmart him.

Cruz should call out Trump and put Trump on the spot and tell him he wants a one on one debate with him.

Billy's bayonet

Cruz doesn;t need to make a "move" all he has to do is keep doing what he has been doing.....going right along and refusing to sling Mud....Ted is going to win IOWA. Sarah going for Trump when she previously supported Cruz hurts Her not Cruz. Lots of people are saying she is a sell out to Trump.

No probs.  Trump's stuck on the wrong side of the ethanol-subsidies issue, with millions of people starving and oil-prices dropping to $26-per-barrel.

Cruz'll hit that in all of his appearances, I imagine.

I completely understand where you're coming from. A lot of us live pay check to pay check and we have a place for every dollar, but your attitude kinda sucks. It takes money to run a campaign, and he's looking for those small donations from real Americans. He deserves support IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT. If not, don't worry about it. Are you a mere spectator, or have you looked into helping out his campaign in other ways?

Cruz's Achilles' heel IN IOWA is his opposition to ethanol subsidies.
His steadfastness on principle hurts him in Iowa.
I suspect that's the main reason the subsidies were enacted to begin with -
to create dependency on government in an otherwise conservative state.
Here are the 10 RINOs who voted to impeach Trump on Jan. 13, 2021 - NEVER forget!

It may hurt him in iowa but should help in other states. There is a whole bunch of us who are tired of this crap clogging up carburetors in the name of farmer's welfare.
