So you want to fuss over the artical or the issue?

the men in the other artical must be another crime- and if that's the case, it proves we have a much greater problem than a story from a small paper in rural area with almost 0 cell service.

people are let out of jail if they can nark- They flip and return to our home towns. All you need is some info and $.

change of subject seems odd?  what is wrong with this pic?

Don't you care about this issue?

whipe it if you wish.

My "fuss" is over you not linking the subject.  This board is almost 2 years old, I would like to see it get much older and not get shut down.  Some people have work very hard at getting it up and running at no cost for you or me.  We have a ave page view of 6567 per day.  Some of them could be lawyers look for work.  We don't need someone jeopardize the board.   What you posted was good info, if it was your work then say so.  IF not then post a link from now on.  It is called CYA.

Hope you stay and understand young man.

For what it's worth, I googled the subject and the only two relevant hits were both here at CPF.

As for the stories Kramarat linked to, they were from 2007 - 5 years ago (for those of you in Rio Linda!). If those were what the OP was talking about, it sure took him long enough to get upset about it!

I googled the names and came up with a victim of a pedophile priest.
I didn't think that was a connection either.

I'm sure the guy is new to posting, he will learn that all forums have the same issue with posting articles without links.
Lucky he hit us first, were the polite ones about it.

had not problem with other posts.. didn't cut N paste.. had to retype.. sorry folks- I think this shows how we pulled off subject.  the town this paper is in has 0 links to it's paper... they also have amost 0 cell/web coverage in west pa, if you ever went there you'd understand.. it's just how it is.

any how, no touble on other sites.. thanks for the advice.

after talking to local cops, found how common this is. The fellow in question got country club time- but had to pay back all the people he robed.  how how the hell is it that we let this happen in our world?

I've been pretty involved with  patent/trademark/copyright law. You wouldn't think it would be a big deal to copy an article out of a little local paper.........................but when it becomes a big deal, it's a real big deal. I'm talking lawyers and lawsuits, and it can get both ugly, and expensive.

In this particular case, you probably could have given the paper a call, or gone down there to get permission to reprint the article, along with sourcing both the paper, and the original author of the article with your reprint. As far as not having a problem on other sites........................ignorance of the law is no excuse. They are taking a definite risk by allowing it.

Back on topic: I know exactly what you're talking about. I've got a guy that lives near me, that I suspect is a narc. He pretty much does whatever he wants, (including selling drugs), and never seems to get in trouble. If he does wind up in jail, he's out within 24 hours. It really pisses me off. In exchange for information, the cops can grant amnesty to anyone they want. In the meantime, us law abiding citizens have to live with these people in our neighborhoods.

I wouldn't blame them if some of those law-abiding citizens got together and saw to it that that weasel just "disappeared" one night - never to be seen or heard from again.

Just sayin'...

It does happen, up here in the mountains, we had a group of crancksters staying on someones property supposedly care-taking, all the while cooking meth.
Lets just say the community would not stand for the sudden increase in crime, these guys were so scared, they left everything behind, including wallets.
For some reason they felt their lives were more important. I just can't imagine what could have put that much fear into a group of guys.
Funny, we've never been back there for a group target practice since.

I should have mentioned..............it's the prosecutors and the higher ups, that turn these people loose. I know cops that work the street, and they're just as disgusted with the revolving door bullshit as anyone. Probably more. They risk their lives getting these scumbags off the street, and most of them are sprung within 24 hours.

The guy I'm talking about, lives right next door. No job, and his mother owns the trailer he lives in and pays his bills for him. I had a talk with him when he first got here, and he doesn't bother me or my family. He runs around around with a pretty rough crowd, so getting into a protracted battle isn't an option. I simply explained to him, that if I ever got the slightest feeling that my wife or daughter were in danger, or threatened in any way...............deadly force would be my only option. Besides, he looks terrible. Between the meth and the booze, I doubt he's long for this world anyway.

Oh, by the way.................I didn't threaten him. That would be against the law. I just explained to him how I view things.

Did they actually leave it all behind  - or is this a case of them become "one with Mother Gaia"?

Okay, I was just sort of hoping that you had "assisted their spirits in returning to nature".
Up in the mountains after the bears, and the wolves, and the coyotes, and the mountain lions, and various varmints; whose going to know?

There were a couple in the group of more that 15 that said they wanted to end the cancer, but several had family and didn't want to risk prison.
Besides, this was a very safe alternative, it's not like they could call the Sheriff and complain that someone was trying to kill them for cooking meth.

I doubt we could get away with it today, too many new people moved into the area, which also forced the scum out, too many watchful eyes now.

I don't know if you're familiar with Harmon front end forks for Harley, but the guy was like a god to the biker crowd years ago.
He lived a mile from me, had a nice spread of land, but the Sheriff knew he was cooking crank but couldn't catch him.
They had a reliable snitch that said he had an underground lab, but didn't know where it was on his land.
A smart investigator noticed one bee hive out of a hundred or so that had a well worn path, but no bees in the hive.
He tilted it back and underneath was a huge lab, they busted him and I think he got 20 years, he's probably out now.
This used to be a druggies paradise, far from the city.

My land was Forest service park land, but after it was found to have more than a thousand pot plants growing on it, they wanted to unload it, so when the forest service accidentally logged some private land, they gave the land owner the 160 acres my property sits on in exchange.

Here is a pic of the fork style he mad famous decades ago.
The springer front end.
