I wouldn't doubt for a second that commies capitalized on Wahhabi radicalism and helped feed it's growth.

Though liberals / progressives who want to celebrate the LGBTQ, cultural diversity, childish freedom from laws, women's rights, and so on.........are pretty stupid to join forces with islam.

On the other hand, the USSR, China, NKorea, and now Putin........just about dead-on agreement with sharia's take on all that stuff.

Several KGB agents that have defected have said they were instrumental in training Muslims in terrorism.  Supposedly Iran's Ali Khamenei attended an elite college in Russia and was in an Anti-American program when he was in his 20's.  I think if we dig into it, we will find a communist connection to a lot of the terrorism against Israel and the West.

General Pacepa is the highest ranking Soviet defector in America.  He was the commanding officer of the Romanian KGB when he was ordered to develop an odorless plastic explosive that dogs or sniffers could not detect, for use in taking down aircraft.  That was expressed to him as Romania's "contribution" to the cause of inciting a fundamentalist Islamic Jihad, mesmerizing and galvanizing the Arab world. The Romanians complied. According to the General, world terror has a 30 year supply of the explosive on hand now, some 10-15 tons.
      The Soviets flooded the middle east with teachers, artists, writers, media people, politicians, and training to incite the Jihad, according to General Pacepa, who now lives incognito.  He is a top priority Soviet target.  "Disinformation" is available on Amazon, last I checked, pre publication a year ago.

It's also the biggest fear for them now.  They literally can't do anything about it, though they must.

If they try to clean them out, it's a war.

They're probably all stocked to the gills with smuggled weapons, but even where they aren't, they'll all come out swinging axes and pitchforks and shovels, ready for their martyr-card and 72 sturgeons.  Dead cops or dead, sympathy-coated muslims.  Take your pick.

I'll bet the frog govt prefers the terrorism to this scenario, and will try to just let it ride as is.
