The per diems for the secret service team runs at around £172 each, which amounts to nearly £60,000 for the length of the summer break.

Use of Air Force Two, the Air Force version of a 757, comes in at $150,000 for the round trip. This does not include time on the ground.

Mrs Obama's personal staff, of which there are an unknown amount and who might cost considerably more per day, also have to be taken into account.

The American public will also cover the cost of the only official part of the holiday, a visit to the Spanish royal family on the island of Majorca.
This will involve transport there and back for the entourage - as well as travel, accommodation, food and expenses for all while on the island.

Let us look at this scientifically Wall Streeter's simultaneously crashing the economy and drawing huge bonuses...
Let's see...Obama simultaneously preaches that everyone should "sacrifice" while his wife takes Air Force planes overseas to the most posh international destination with seemingly half of the secret service in tow. Never mind the jet fuel spent on the flights - hello global warming - the trip just doesn't pass the smell test established by the President himself when he talked about, you know Ruth, putting some "skin in the game." We all agree she won't be staying in a Motel 6 but the Ritz in Spain is a far cry from her other more respectful of the AMERICAN ECONOMY options.

Want LIBS. Have Taxed or Bert go back to the Politics Forum and make invites. I quit posting there as well. There are more LIBS, DIMS, socialist, and moderates ( whatever the hell those are ) posting there than at the Dark Forum.

I probably would have joined, but I hate restrictions, especially where they keep changing the rules as they go, just to fit their agenda.
