I reckon everybody has some...

Here are two piece describing suggested agenda for the new Republican majority.

First, George Will:

Long and short of it.
1.    Abolish Consumer Financial Protection Bureau  (Dodd-Frank)
2.   Repeal Independent Payment Advisory Board  (KenyaCare)
3.   Repeal Tax on Medical Devices  (KenyaCare)
4.   Authorize construction of Keystone XL pipeline
5.   Complete and use Yucca Mountain
6.   Require explicit and specific Congressional approval for expensive regulations

Next Glenn Harlan Reynolds

http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2014/11/09/6-bills-copyright-gop-should-pass-republican-agenda-column/18773951/

1.   End federal involvement with the drinking age
2.   Decriminalize marijuana at the federal level
3.   Repeal the digital Millennium Copyright Act
4.   Make The Pill an over-the-counter product
5.   Abolish public sector unions (at federal level)
6.   Institute a "revolving door" surtax.

In both cases read the links for the fine points of reasons why.

The two agendas are different but not mutually exclusive.   Both have a libertarian slant and both restore the legislative function to Congress.

Passing any of the twelve will probably bring a veto from Hussein Obama, but that's OK.   It will give us a handle on who stands where during a override fight.

Out-of-Congress presidential hopefuls like Old Bossy and Scott Walker would be somewhat helped by the override tumult.   Sitting Senators are gonna have to cast votes.

None of this will happen if McConnell leaves the filibuster in place.

It's amazing that both houses can do whatever the hell the GOP decides to do.  This is the opportunity of a lifetime to paint Obama into a bad corner, every single day.

He's probably too much a sociopath to care, he'll just pitch a 2-year-fit and not give an inch.  Which is win-win-win all day long.

All they have to do, is just do something / anything.  Here's hoping.

Nothing about securing the border...

Nothing about passing a fiscally sound budget... (We haven't had a Federal Budget passed in nearly 6 years - in violation of Federal Law!)

Nothing about halting the implementation of Obamacare. Obamacare is the single largest impediment to economic growth affecting our country today. No economic growth means no jobs!

Nothing about curtailing the Food Stamps debacle.

Nothing about undoing the new version of the Community Reinvestment Act which the Democrats have been slowly building up again. Unless this is done, there will be another housing market crash - count on it!

Nothing about ending the Qualitative Easing scam and holding those responsible, accountable for their action!

In short, we have been given two versions of the RINO go-along-to-get-along agenda!

We are soooo screwed!

You knuckleheads are asking too much when you have to pass stuff over a presidential veto.

All these items should be on the 2017 agenda when there is a united GOP/TEA government.

Now...get what you can get.

dashvinny

I hear the rep leadership wants to team with Harry Reid and fund the govt for the next year in the  lame duck. There may not be much of an agenda other than getting amnesty  passed.

daidalos

I can tell you what the AGenda will be.

Whatever Pelosi and Reid, tell Boner and McDonalds reject.

That's what the "agenda" will be.

Because you watch, you watch and see, if they don't "demand this and that" and see if Boner and Old Mcdonald don't fold and cave in and give into these liberals.

How do I know this will be what happens?

Because it's already gone on in the past.

And with the very same spineless group of politicians in Control of the Congress right now, at that.
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html
And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)

Pelosi hasn't meant anything to the last 2 congresses and will mean even less in this one after their additional loss of seats. Harry reid will only mean as much as whatever control he has over the other Democrat Senators. Remember that most of the democrat senators are old seasoned politicians that are sure to be looking over the trend shown in the last 2 elections in the house as well as the senate and realize that under their party leadership they are the walking dead.

No If I was a democrat senator or congressmen I would be going out of my way to show the voters my independence from Reid, Pelosi and Obama!!

Going to be an interesting 2 years!!

#1 Secure the border in any method they can

We do not have a veto proof majority but we can get Obama and the democrats on record but pushing your other choices. After that start defunding through the budget process. Start with a 10-15% reduction in the operating funds of every government agency that has flouted the power of congress and the rule of law.
If Obama doesn't sign the budget it will be him shutting down the government not the republicans.
Defund one agency at a time. don't shut them down, but starve them out!!

Excellent points about the existing dem members. They see what has happened to those who followed the "party line". The dems will not be united the next two years and it will be miserable for Obama. When the new congress begins in January Reid and Pelosi will be irrelevant.

Taxcutter says:
Hussein obama simply is not going to do that regardless of what Congress funds or defunds.

Taxcutter says:
Not a bad idea going forward, but first momentum must be established.   The Will/Reynolds ideas are very doable and would provide a base of momentum for a larger defunding program in the medium term.

Start with the EPA and DOE. Congress should not earmark the cuts, but advise each agency it is their job to manage the cuts. That way it reduces the chance the bureaucrats will do as they did with the sequester of hurting people on purpose.

Indeed that Red, however that said. It doesn't matter which lib name you use, the agenda, will be whatever the libs, tell these spineless republicans to do.

Haven't you noticed before how the Rino Republicans, time and again, despite being the dominant party in the Congress, will go out of their way to cow-tow and bow and scrape and roll over for the libs?

It's precisely because of that, which is why I expect the Agenda once Congress returns, will be whatever the libs want it to be.
