Now there are Johnny Roccos in every precinct in this country, and they all work for the Obamanistas.

Bubba was running for reelection when the Detroit Free Press ran this item (cleaned up from a newspaper clipping). Considering how crooked the Dems are in Wayne County, Michigan, where that paper is located, I found it a very, very cynical item for its timing. (The Freep did endorse Bubba.)

About a month or month and a half ago, I was fortunate enough to be flipping through the satellite channels when that was just starting on AMC. I had forgotten what a great movie it was and with such a great cast.

One of my very favorite Robinson films was The Cincinnati Kid, starring Steve McQueen, Robinson, Ann-Margret, and the 6-out-of-5-star virtuoso Karl Malden.

These were top actors at the top of their game. It's a joy of a film, just watching the characterization unfold (in a poker scene FAR more interesting than in Casino Royale).

As the film character Norma Desmond said in Sunset Boulevard, it isn't the actors who grew smaller, it was the parts. Today it's cokeheads and crazies. Norma Desmond was half-wrong.
