But he's still getting away with damn near 100% of atrocities / crimes.  That's the problem, not that they still like his cute smile and sweet voice.

Gallup and Real Clear Politics latest numbers.

"Nearly half still approve."

I don't think we're going to see Obama's approval numbers drop much lower than the percentage of people that are dependent on government. Take them out of the loop, and his approval is zero.

Reality

There's a lot more Obama fanatics that are not on the Government dole than one might think.

Are you including government employees?

I did a job about 4 years ago for a couple that had both retired from the post office, and their living room mantle over the fireplace was an Obama shrine. It about made me choke. :scared:

Reality

Government dole in this context means those that take but do not have any skin in the game.

Someone in the US Military is an employee of the US Government and they definitely have skin in the game.  Many other government employees have skin in the game also.

In the People's Republic of Ann Arbor, the University of Michigan is absolutely in thrall to federal dollars. It's the academic dole. They have countless reasons why they could do so much more if Uncle Sugar only paid for more R&D (or any other job affecting themselves or someone they know).

Then there's the contractors---companies supplying goods and services to our military. They'll feed you, mow your lawns, guard your gates, cut your hair---you name it. I'm not expert on researching totals but I'd guess it's at least 100,000 people and very likely more. You bet they just love Uncle Sugar, especially when some dweeb Congresscriminal decides our military JUST HAS to get new uniforms (or guns, or tanks, vehicles, planes). Jobs back in the home district. Sequestration here doesn't count, not if that same crook wants to get reelected.

All who provide services for the USG and get paid for doing same are not necessarily in the 47% that supposedly do nothing.  My interpretaion of the 47% is they pay no taxes and are on the receiving end of most of the government handouts.

To say one is getting a free ride for getting paid for what he does is wrong.  For instance, it's impossible for the US Military to develop advanced weaponry like the F-22 or the B-2.  The military industrial complex does that.

BTW, just because one makes his/her living by working directly or indirectly for the USG does not make them a democrat.

My point was about public sector union workers. Maybe they aren't democrats at heart, but they will always vote for the people that promise them more money/benefits. Typically democrats.

Whole heartedly agree.
