Because it's a universally recognized principle of ethics that individuals really should run from thugs and be defenseless, rather than defend themselves.
Here's a for instance. I don't like you. You don't like me. It's well known we don't like each other. So I wait for you one night in a deserted area, and shot you. I then put a knife in to your hand and tell the police, you went for me. You, of course, are unable to offer a counter argument. What bothers me about SYG laws is the automatic assumption you were simply defending your self, in that situation. And if you don't believe that people will eventually take advantage of a "loop hole" in the law, you don't know people. You see yourself bravely blasting away at thugs, I see people taking the opportunity to settle old scores. Different viewpoints.

You said previously in another thread that you understand the law.  Clearly you don't.

There is no such "assumption (one) was simply defending themselves"

It's not a "get out of jail free" card.    It's not a loophole.

What you see, is the denial of what has always been the innate and unalienable right of every living, breathing thing that has every lived,  but you would distort it into being a loophole, by the corruption of Orwellian Progressive "logic".

The other thread was placed over there for a reason. I believe we should assume that Admin knew what they were doing; and allow the discussion to remain over there.

Which evidently only applies to others references. Or is it to references to that thread itself?  Gawd, double standards are so ambiguous.

It's sort of like the first person to fire being able to claim the stand your ground law.

We now restore the satire setting of your television,  and return you to your regularly scheduled deprogramming.

But first a message from our sponsor, DUA,  Depends Undergarment Arms, seniors can depend on their depends to back them up when facing beanbag guns.

Grudges are settled no matter what the law may be. Emotion-based killings are also easiest to solve. Motives are instantly apparent.

How so ?
Tell me who escalated this incident? At this point police should have evacuated everyone, closed the doors till he cooled off.
Police demanded that he drop the cane and shoehorn, but he did not comply and then picked up a "12-inch butcher type kitchen knife."

QuoteTaxing a certain food type because it causes health problems to a society may or may not be stupid, but to try to claim that the next step is going to be some Stalinistic mass starvation scenario is just fear mongering.
It's called punitive taxation which is unconstitutional, and once you allow that line to be crossed, all bets are off.
Taxing people to modify behavior is a purely Marxist ploy, think about it.

It's Social Engineering.

Nowhere in the Constitution is any authority given to the federal government to engage in any sort of social engineering, and rather that authority is deliberately prohibited.... along with the intent to curtail any sort of agendas exercised by the federal government.

However the Constitution has been so corrupted by  deliberate misrepresentation, that agendas are now the rule of the day, but still prohibited by the Constitution's terms.

Fifteen Amish were put in federal prision not so long ago, prosecuted under federal hate crime legislation, 15-year convictions,  for cutting the hair and beards of other Amish, and how this was justified was the trimmers used were manufactured in one state, and transported and used in another, thereby crossing state lines -- a gross perversion of the interstate commerce clause.

And the American people remain silent. There's no outrage about this action against the Amish. There's no absolute cry of foul. There's no hanging the federal DOJ for its own perfidity and gross corruption of the interstate commerce clause.

Thank you, those are exactly the words I was searing for.

Don't get me started on that shit, the bastardizing of the very meaning of the rule of law.
Murder is no longer a crime, unless you had hate in mind.....
Isn't that generally why people murder?

Commerce clause needs to be gutted and buried until it can be replaced. Of course I see no need to hurry on a replacement.

OHHH...But of course there will, we Conservatives want to eliminate all laws and all Govt, we strive towards chaos, anarchy, so people will kill off everyone leaving the Nation to the scoundrels.
And you wonder why I call you an idiot?

Interesting since your so called "conservatives" have been seeking to cut funding from the FDA

This is the only warning you will receive! Derail another thread into a Trayvon thread and you get a serious timeout.

Well, a warning from the village idiot posing as an informed administrator in a forum started because of his hissy fit resulting in him being banned from another forum.

Check your facts idiot. I wasn't the one who brought up Martin, or Stand Your Ground. As usual, you are just full of yourself.

Now, how long will this thread last, or before I am banned for telling it as it is. My time is 5:28 PM PST.

You mean like preventing the homeless from receiving food donations because of salt/fat content?

More ignorant trolling I see.
Are you seriously telling me that the FDA, a bloated at the top Govt agency can't find areas to cut?

And for your info, I still have an account at the other place, I left because he refused to stop giving out personal info on members, he only deleted my account so people wouldn't ask question as to why someone with more than fifty thousand posts left.
I don't blame him for that.

Or there will be laws by the right wing eliminating all safety rules for the food you eat. Thus China, the friend of the right wing, can ship even more contaminated food here.

Martin didn't start the issue either, and I think that is the reference for the "stand your ground" comment.
