You need to understand the distinction between police and sheriff.

Two different mindsets.

Police are "doing a job"
Sheriff is "protecting the community"

Im not a  leftist but  its easy to see more and  more cops taking  on the enforcement duties  of the  communist  left. I will never trust an armed group of people given power over me.
Who do you want to enforce the laws?

Personally... I'm open to the idea of the SHERIFF deputizing and granting immunity to a few honest citizens, now and then.... kinda "git 'er done!" justice.

Thats the question isnt  it. The FBI for instance should be eliminated  in my opinion. I would rather  have  no police than have a  leftist gestapo at any level.

The majority of conservatives have supported continuing to expand and expand and expand the power of law enforcement in the name of safety, but it has now gotten to the point where the chickens are coming home to roost in a number of ways.

You don't seem to understand the meaning of "Conservative".

I would think a true  conservative would want as little  policing as  possible.

You don't think the "thin blue line" is primarily a conservative initiative?

I think you're serious... are you?     What would make one *think* TBL was part of a conservative movement?     Political or non-political movements can be for a CAUSE, like TEA (Taxed Enough Already), and supported across the entire political spectrum, right?

Am in missing a point here...?   Being a big government Liberal doesn't mean you're for or against law enforcement - I'd suggest it's what *kind* of selective enforcement they want & *who* they selectively screen to do it.

Someday... I expect we'll see foreign troops taking part of the role as federal law enforcement - under a RINO or Democrat President.  Doesn't matter what the Constitution says, desperate people will do crazy things.

A true conservative supports law and Order, Justice under the constitution and National security....including border security.

All policing is relative, an inner crime ridden urban environment is going to need a greater amount of policing than cactus corners in stump jump county.

Also there is a disturbing trend by the left to turn police into REGULATORS....those who enforce regulations rather than the criminal code

For the past 6 months to a year, whenever I seen a thin blue line sticker, it's almost always been paired with a trump sticker.

You are trying to equate the support of law and order with growth of the system. These two are in no way connected.
One other point. Personally, I never liked the idea of defacing the American flag, and to do it primarily in support of "police departments."

Whose law and whose order? Cops will enforce communism. When i see a cop now i first think dictatorial prick. Its not far away when cops main task wil be to police, restrict, and round up conservatives. Justice under the constitution is rapidly becoming a joke and clarence thomas's death or retirement will bring the constitution to a quick end. There was a whole damn lot  of  law and  order  in nazi germany and stalinist russia. No thanks
