Soooo   Shooterman what do you think?

Now if they would only do that in my state.   :))       :D

~snip~
The Department of Justice under Barack Obama's direction has threatened to make the state of Texas a "no-fly" zone if state lawmakers pursue legislation that would protect airline passengers from having their sex organs groped by Transportation Security Administration officials without probable cause.

~snip
"Instead of threatening to shut down flights in Texas, why doesn't the TSA just show us their statutory authority to grope or ogle our private parts?" he asked. "All that HB 1937 does is require that the TSA abide by the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. We aren't even prohibiting the pat-downs, per se. We're just saying you can't go straight to third base. You have to have a reason – you have to have probable cause – before groping someone's sexual organs."

This is a reflection of real life on the street.
Think about it, you look around at all the people on the street, and there is a very good chance that many of them are armed, this has a lot to do with keeping many potential crimes in check, but disarm the public, and crime increases.
Same goes for planes, take away anything that can be used as a weapon, and suddenly the the chance of attack increases.

Point is, quit disarming the public and start looking for bombs, this action quickly narrows the field and makes catching the bad guy that much easier.

Did I mention profiling? 8)

I fly - a LOT - for my work and my life.  I log about 140,000 miles a year, somewhere around 65-70 segments.  I do get upgraded quite a bit, too, to business and first class.

It's always curious to me, when that happens...  Security won't let me bring on my little 2" Kershaw pocket knife, or a small sewing kit with small scissors.  But when it comes time for dinner in the business class, I can get a steak, and get HANDED a 5" serrated blade with a nice thick wooden handle and pointy tip.  And I also get a real SOLID METAL butter knife and SOLID METAL fork.

If I wanted to use a knife to take over a plane, the last thing I'd do is use a 2" Kershaw; I'd buy a business class ticket and have the flight attendant simply HAND me what I want to use...

The TSA - and most of the restrictions - are simply all show, bread and circuses for the masses.
Life has proven to be 100% terminal...

It really is laughable, I could very easily hide blades in the souls of my shoes, disguised as support braces.
I know, because they x-rayed my boots because they set off the metal detector, I could see the metal supports clearly, and they looked like knives.

I can remember when I would go through old metal detectors at the airports.  When I was working I was required to wear steel toed shoes at all times for work.  So when I would fly for them, I would slide my feet through so sthe metal detectors would not pick the up.  If you pick them up to take a step it would go off.  :))

BILLY Defiant

Doing security work I used to routinely carry weapons that don't look like weapons and wouldn't be recognized as so. When I fly, I carry those same weapons. None of the brain trusts at TSA have figured it out yet.....
