HSI Las Cruces and the U.S. Marshal's Service – District of New Mexico in collaboration with the New Mexico State Police, Las Cruces Police Department, Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office, Anthony Police Department, Sunland Park Police Department, the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD), National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), New Mexico Attorney General's Office (NMAGO) and Deliver Fund, a non-profit organization, initiated Operation Rescue Me on May 1. The enforcement action focused on locating and recovering missing children in Dona Ana County, New Mexico.

The offices of U.S. Marshals and Deputy Marshal were created by the first Congress in the Judiciary Act of 1789, the same legislation that established the Federal judicial system. The Marshals were given extensive authority to support the federal courts within their judicial districts and to carry out all lawful orders issued by judges, Congress, or the president.

As a balance to this broad grant of authority, Congress imposed a time limit on the tenure of Marshals, the only office created by the Judiciary Act with an automatic expiration. Marshals were limited to four-year, renewable terms, serving at the pleasure of the president.

Until the mid-20th century, the Marshals hired their own Deputies, often firing the Deputies who had worked for the previous Marshal. Thus, the limitation on the Marshal's term of office frequently extended to the Deputies as well.

I'd be curious to know the age and Ethnicity of these children. I strongly suspect many are held by the cartels to serve as sex slaves or be sold into Prostitution....having been brought into this country illegally in the first place.

That's my assumption as well, preteen to teen, they are the easiest to manipulate.
Many are divided after crossing the border amongst coyotes, they're told, "You go with that group, he'll take care of you". And before they know what happened, they're treated like livestock.
