Lucky?   You better look at the vid again...the perp NEVER had a chance to return fire.

I disagree. Stop the video at 35 second in. Had the robber been the type You claim to be then He would have fired. Thankfully the old man ran into someone who wasn't seemingly ready for that type of situation.

Had I been armed I cant say that I wouldn't have attacked as well, Taxi. And it still would have been risky, either way.
I'm not sure you have it in ya...

Why are You focusing on My belief that this could've also gone bad for the people there? Do You not believe that to be the case?
Here is where you reach, fishy.  You are trying to say "something could have happened", as if the old man made a bad decision.  To not do anything while criminals with guns enter the shop is not a reason to lay down and pray you won't do something because you might cause less damage in a hypothetical situation.  You are making the same argument I heard some idiots make about the Virginia Tech shootings.

Unreal.

Bullshit.   He had already been unexpectedly fired upon...skidmarked his pants.... and his gun had not been brought to bear with a target in focus (the perp was scanning the room when he was unexpectedly fired upon)...the old man had the drop on him and had scared him shitless...if he took the milliseconds to return fire he was about to receive one center mass from an opponent who was already focused on him.

It was a risky decision, Taxi, that could've gone bad.  So, even though I applaud his bravery I still point out the possible bad in the decision.

Obviously you question your own abilities, this man did not, he acted.

It could have gone bad, like some thugs with shotguns breaking into the place wasn't bad enough...  If that happens to me, I'm not going to say "Hmmm, this sucks.... but hey, it could be a lot worse!  I guess I'll play dead and let them have their way with us because God forbid something bad happens...".

It was a risk that old guy took. Shooting around civilians is risky.  Do you not agree?

Shooting is risky, period. It doesn't matter what "sort" of people are around. What's your point?

BILLY Defiant

I personally volunteer to retrain this old gentlemen and supply him with practise ammo so the next time he kills them both.

Um, yeah, I'll chip in a few bucks. He did the right thing, but his aim is not what it could be. Both perps got out the door; both should have died in their tracks.

It wasn't his aim, it was his gun, he needed a 44, then he'd have been on target....anywhere.

There's one thing that bothers me about the video, and the man's actions. Once the perps were outside, fleeing for their lives, he let one more shot go.

I think about it, and I know it's "heat of the moment" and you do what you feel you have to do. But I think he should have held back that last round.

Just my humble opinion...

Maybe the perp was turning around, the video doesn't show what was happening outside.
