A veep has no real power.  It is largely a figurehead position... waiting in the wings like a spare tire.

Apparently there are some people that have a strong enough belief in Cruz's ability to win that they personally invested $15M in his campaign.  Do they know something we don't?  Not really.  They just KNOW Ted and his ability to accomplish that which he promises.  I don't think they believe they are wasting that much money!

The veep really doesn't preside over the Senate.   When was the last time you saw Biden at the Senate bench????

Yes, he casts a vote if there is a tie.  But once again, when was the last time Biden cast a tie vote????????

I would much, much rather have Cruz as AG than veep.  Even better to have him on SCOTUS!

There needs to be an e-verify data base for employers to use in screening illegals from their work force.   If we penalize employers for hiring illegals and take away freebies, they will ALL self deport.

Not ALL of them,  you got the criminals...which are probably around 30% of the illegals in the country or even more....not just the drug gang bangers and street hoodlums but all the scam artists, the double clocking welfare cheats and various other illegal enterprises and con games.  'Work' is irrelevant to them. You have to double down and root out the bad guys and the ONLY way to effectively do that is to employ the one million state and local LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS working alongside ICE agents to do that.

But I do a agree that a combination of cut off of Govt taxpayer supported benies and strict enforcement of illegal employment. would turn off the spigot. Then you have to enact laws that prevent these illgals from having bank accounts, drivers license or puchase of vehicles, property or rental.

Now examine the other candidates, none of them with the exception of Cruz are really laying down such a hard line, most of what I am hearing from them is Oh....we can't possibly do that...too many of them...especially that fat head Christie....all that naysaying is why we have the problem in the first place....these guys we unwilling to enforce the law or enact others when they had the chance to get a handle ont he problem.
