Okay, Costco is banning Dinesh D'Souza's America book, so I'm boycotting Costco until distant gray-point in the future.  My 'ignore'-list:

Costco
AARP
Coke products
General Electric
ADT Security
Cellular One
Progressive Insurance
Comcast
Facebook

I'm probably forgetting a couple, and there are some borderliners that I don't wanna be hypocritcal about... unless they blatantly cheerlead-for leftwing schlock.

I read that Costco is denying that it has any political motivation. Um, excuse me, but what other sort of motivation would a major retailer have for deciding not to sell a best-selling, highly-profitable book?

Pure jealousy and envy of the Right's endless parade of best-selling authors, partly.  Then a mean-spirited swipe at D'Souza for his previous anti-obama movie.  Costco's prez spoke at the Dem-convention, I think.

I agree with you about Facebook after they allowed sites for other pseudonymous posters but dumped my site, evidently after a complaint by a liberal who didn't like my politics. Their more recent escapades involving social experiments is merely icing on their cake. I drink Coke --- Classic Coke. The rest you won't get arguments from me. AARP is overdue for mandatory registration as a Democratic Party front group.

I'm not sure you answered my question. How is this not politics?

GM and Chrysler.

Okay, now I'm 100% sure. NO ONE is going to answer my question -- how is this not politics? "GM and Chrysler," yes, there's one to take home and show the old lady. Them is some impotent words!

You addendum'd your question with a partial answer before you actually asked it.

You 'read' it wasn't about politics?   That's somebody's first reaction when they get busted with the cookie-jar.  The D'Souza product won't sell-reaction indicts Costco's retail book-buying staff, for spending the company's expense-allotment on X-number of America-books divied proportionately franchise-wide.  -Makes the whole operation look bad.

The D'Souza is an immigrant and has no business writing about America-reaction sounds tinny and narrow.  Any kid with a Sky King secret microscope-wallet can walk in and buy a copy of Chateaubriand's Essai sur les Revolutions (essays about the American Revolution by a non-immigrant) and shoot-down that excuse.

The D'Souza is a liar-reaction doesn't make capitalistic business-sense.  Then label the book as 'fiction' like you did with The Bible, not so many months ago.  It'll still sell big-time.

So, can it not be about politics and be purely a business-decision?  I don't see how.  If D'Souza committed a crime or personal affront to the Costco-prez's family or person, why wait till last week to spill it via some symbolic unspoken 'ban'?

The president of Costco is now a liar, as well as a liberal.  -And within the last few hours; a coward for backtracking.

"The president of Costco is now a liar, as well as a liberal."

That is redundant.

I do not under stand.  When my state was dry on Sunday.   Saturday night was always a big buying night for alcohol.  People always got more then they needed.  So most would always drink more than they would have if they could get it on Sunday.

Many problems with extended family members being able to get the stuff on Sunday.  Having to get the stuff on Saturday keeps them at least cognizant enough to know that they will be needing to be sober enough to get out to get it for Sunday fun.  Won't be me paying their dui's.

At least I'm not my usual die-hard self on the subject.  Trust me, I'm a tee-totaler and normally any concessions on my part are rediculous but i know when to hush.

I would NOT pay for some ones DUI.  As my good wife always said, if I was pick up for a DUI she would be there to help slam the door and lock it.
