Hey... we had a class project where we had to make a 'creative' video on the differences (NOTE WE HAD TO MAKE IT A LIBERAL VIEW... AGAIN HAD TO).... I was wondering if the reason (as indicated in the video) we see inefficiencies in our health system (more so than other countries) is because of too much federal regulation or too much free market (as the video states)? Our health system originated mostly as a free market but high costs, poor coverage gaps, and inefficiencies led to regulation...which has placed us here (like the video says)...

When you get to the part showing WHERE you are a conservative, do drop us a line. Instead, you feed us liberal nonsense. Wow. Talk about deep research on a site before you posted!

You'd be better served if you did your own research as to why HC costs are where they currently are.
You'll find both party's are to blame, and like clockwork, the left seizes the moment, makes it a political weapon and uses the remaining ammunition against their perceived enemy to achieve it's end goal of politicizing every aspect of life..

Point being, the whole left right paradigm is a fraud, both have slowly moved this nation in the direction of socialism.
One openly, while the other feigns the appearance of resistance.
We're onto both party's, which is why the whole political system is about to change drastically.

Thanks for the response! I appreciate it!

The free market has had problems because it really isn't free.

The market has been thwarted at every turn.  The insurance companies are a "protected" racket and to protect them the politicians won't allow people to buy insurance across State lines.  How is that free?

Doctors can be sued for every ridiculous thing.  Their insurance rates are so high that it is difficult for them to maintain a private practice.

The government wants all doctors working for a hospital, not private practice.  The hospitals are being bought up en masse by conglomerates that are not really concerned with our health.  It is another racket.  They keep the doctors on a short leash.

To be truly free I wish we would go back to paying the doctors directly for our treatment and only buying major medical insurance for catastrophic illnesses.  Without all the insurance red tape doctors could be free to do the tests needed and not unnecessary things to protect themselves from lawsuits.  They could charge us far less because their insurance would cost less and they would not have to have an office full of clerks to process insurance claims for everyone.

But the big problem is getting the government out of the way.  Lobbyists won't allow it.

Those are valid points.
I'd like to add the fact that the medical establishment
(a racket protected by government)
also has the government attack alternative medicine,
which can cure many ailments far more effectively, safely, and at far lower cost.

The medical establishment IS an extortion racket!
Instead of trying to cure illness as efficiently as possible,
it often criminalizes actual cures,
forcing people to keep coming to the establishment
to keep getting expensive treatments forever!
