Today, United has one of the most diverse pilot populations of any U.S. carrier with nearly 20% of our pilot group made up of women and people of color. We are working toward raising that number even higher by partnering with diversity-led organizations and continuing to remove gender and racial barriers. And we're going one step further with plans for 50% of United Aviate Academy students being women and people of color to ensure our students reflect the diversity of the customers and communities we serve.

Together United and JPMorgan Chase are offering $2.4 million in financial aid to the best and brightest talent, opening the door to a lucrative career for people who previously didn't have the opportunity to pursue one. We're in the business of breaking down barriers and we want the pilot population — some of the highest paying jobs in the industry — to be open to a much more diverse pool of candidates.

Looks like a race to the bottom to me.  These "woke" assholes are tripping over each other in their pathetic attempt to keep blm off their case.  Just more race hustling done on a very large scale.

Many pilots are ex military.  I hear nothing from any veterans groups.  I would have no problem with veterans getting a leg up, but idiots that will have to rely on affirmative action to get hired need to find another line of work.

My guess is that they will have to go with adding more women pilots. Finding blacks that can read is almost impossible now a days, how are they supposed to get a pilots license?

Still got a "stitch" in the small of my back from one of those guys I wouldn't trust as a Veterinarian....  He put in 12, found 10, and oh well... maybe they'll just pop out.

The airline industry is BEGGING for pilots.  They'll put you through flight school and into the right seat, if you meet the grade and sign on.  My daughter was getting courted by them, when she expressed mild interest- instead, she went into USAF ... a "Fusion analyst"..?   otherwise known as a Power Point Ranger.
I bet she's gonna have stories... she can't talk about!

Yet there's virtually no interest in aviation and flying today. General aviation is pretty much dying on the vine. Its' not at all like it was when I was a kid and every little boy wanted to grow up to be a jet fighter pilot. I guess today it's the little girls and little boys want to grow up to be women, faggots or drug dealers. At least it seems that's the aim of the left.

I gotta tell ya most pilots are not crooked but many are stupid enough to do almost anything in order to fly for a living. I once worked for Cessna as their avionics rep for the southwest. After a couple of years I left them because I could not afford to work for them anymore. The airplanes and flying were OK but you try living in LA on Witchita wages. The man down at the grocery and the landlord simply didn't give a shit about the airplane while alumininum is tasteless, indigestable and has no coloric value.
