Yep, that's why I believe the left is giving Trump all this exposure.
My theory as to why more aren't using both barrels at the moment, is they are waiting till we close in on 2016, around late August, then folks like Cruz will come out, not only swinging, but making full ten count knockouts.

It's just way to early to generate good will, leaving nothing in the final stretch when the others are out getting media play.
So far Cruz has played a near perfect game, so I'll defer to his wisdom and expertise on winning in the home stretch.

Me too Solar.  Cruz has been, for the most part, consistent and seems to have the aggression we need.  I can understand why he chooses to stand off and look at issues before he dives in.  He is covering himself pretty good so far.  Usually reins in on the going issues before it gets too late.

While I like the way Trump shakes things up, EVERY time I hear Cruz a dignified STATESMAN and not a politician. Trump does make me cringe a little. I hope, in the end, others pick up on that and opt for the dignified but resolute statesman over the self-aggrandizing politician (Trump).
I agree. And I'm not in the least concerned about Trump, his actions are on par with the last two elections he involved himself in, then gradually faded away, with no notoriety, he simply quit campaigning.

Yup.  I'm not a supporter of Trump as a candidate, but the real candidates need to understand where the American People are on these issues. They keep taking the "safe" road to one degree or another. 70% of the American People agree with US. Trump, and to some degree Ted Cruz are filling that void. The rest are more worried about good press. If they're not careful, Trump WILL pull enough votes to pull a Ross Perot and help elect a Clinton. I don't think it will happen, but they better find a message that resonates with the American People and quit worrying about being liked by the press. Look at how much good that did McCain!

We cannot draw a comparison with Trump and Perot. Trump is running as a republican. Perot ran as a third party and had a personal vendetta gains GHW Bush. Trump will be long gone by the time we get to November, 2016.  In the meantime, he might make other candidates be somewhat stronger on important issues.

Solar, this is Trump's FIRST election.

He has talked about getting into the race previously but never did.  This time he took the leap.

I am NOT a fan of Trump.... never have been.

But this is a step further for him.  It remains to be seen how it will end.  I do not think he will win the nomination but I do think he will impact the process!  Any time Trump is present..... he tends to dominate.  He will add pizazz to the debates!!  But the debates may do him in!

Yes, officially, this is his first time. And note, I stated: ("his actions are on par with the last two elections he involved himself in") And I was wrong, this is his third technical run.
Point is, he's never serious, even if he did go all out this time, he won't go all the way, it's nothing but show.

But while The Donald repeatedly ruled out a race for statewide office, he strongly suggested he was interested in entering the national political arena in 2008.
Trump, who considered an independent run for president in 2000, pointedly noted that his decision not to run governor this year "doesn't preclude me from doing something [political] in the future."

After Trump bowed out of the 2012 election cycle, he published what he said was a complete financial disclosure, which put his net worth at roughly $7 billion, including an estimated brand worth of $3 billion. Should he announce his candidacy for president, Trump would need to file such a disclosure with the FEC, a move he says he is prepared to make.
