The debate over whether the bust of Forrest, a Confederate general and early leader of the Ku Klux Klan, should stay at the Tennessee State Capitol has been going on for years, but recent protests for racial equality have reignited calls for its removal. The effort was shot down in 2017.

Members of the Capitol Commission voted Thursday to remove the bust and the measure now goes to the Historical Commission.

It passed with a 9-2 vote. Members who voted against the bust removal include Capitol were Sen. Jack Johnson and Rep. Matthew Hill.

There are a lot of small victories for anti-racists, right now. Hopefully they have a snowball effect.

With all these lawyers with cameras on the street I'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.
This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.
How come nobody was interested in educating people about these rights until online videos got monetization?

Don't you realize all this "racist" talk is a distraction by the left. Is there some racists among us? Yes, but a very small number. "Racism" is just a tool to confuse people like you. I grew up in the South in the 50's and I know what real systematic racism looks like.

What do you think we're being distracted from and why?

I ask because I know that we can do more than 1 thing at a time.

The democrat party has never been the party of unity. Obama said in an interview that the riots and looting is helping biden in the polls. That is not a call for unity, that is a call for more riots and looting.  (I put this in a post, something about "you think the riots are political" , or something like that).
Johnson's plan did more to destroy black families than any good.
But to answer your question, distract this country from all the good that is happening in this country. This is not a raciest country, blacks and whites shop in the same stores, ride the same elevators, go to the same restaurants, and nobody gets killed. You have to look for the acts that are raciest. Ask yourself this, why are so many hate crimes hoaxes? If there was that much racism why would it have to be faked? Want to see racism, look how muslim countries treat christians. Look at how liberals treat a conservative black person.
I asked you in another post, was Floyd killed by racism or police brutality. Typically, you did not answer. But if it was racism, where is the proof that the four officers were raciest? I have not seen one facebook post, not one tweet, not one person come forward and testify that any of the four had ever uttered any racial comment, and believe me if there was proof of any of this it would be ALL OVER THE NEWS. The fact that there has not been any proof of racism of course does not proof that there was never any, but why does the media still portray this as a raciest act? Why has the media not changed their story to , "this seems more of a bad policeman than a hate crime or act?  Simple, the media wants you to believe there is hate in the police department for all blacks, to further divide this country, why, repeat what obama said.

How many hate crime hoaxes do you think there are per year? And the "Karens" calling the police for people bird-watching in the park or having BBQs don't count.

Also, I've actually not heard from the media that Mr. Floyd's murder was racist. If it's been said, it certainly isn't the mainstream analysis of the situation.

The only talk is about police killing blacks, not any other race, had Floyd been any other color, one it would have been ignored, two if it would have been covered it would have been only on brutality, no color mention. There would never had been rioting or looting.

Have you not noticed we have a major issue with unrest in our streets? The "racism" charges are a weak effort to cover for the thuggery.
