The way this Congress has behaved, you mean the GOP hadn't lost both chambers already? The way they treated Cruz, the real question should be, why vote for anything they try to sell us? They didn't cut Trump off when they could have, offered up inferior alternatives, and now are facing eight more years of socialism...without any semblance of a real fight.

Unfortunately, that leaves us with a criminal skank who belongs in leg irons, reducing big rocks to driveway gravel. Yumpin' Yiminy, this is not an alternative, it's a national insult.

They may end up wanting for life. Contrary to what Leftist films keep telling us, Americans aren't going to allow themselves to be ruined by a statist elite in any "Capital". The country will go the civil war route first.

We ALREADY allowed our ruination, squire. We kept term limits out of the equation, the one thing which guarantees fresh eyes on any set of circumstances with every new Congress. That "statist elite" is the same bureaucracy which openly withstands every assault (as did the recent IRS decision to ignore easier guidelines for firing bad employees---JUST as the IRS commissioner was facing heat by both Senate and House members).

We have permanent unelected leeches hiding out in six-figure salaries with absolutely obscene levels of influence, totally invisible except to us hardcore mainline politics geeks. They hide in plain sight and blame everyone else when the pressures get intense. They will survive any term of Congress and, most likely, any concerted effort to flush them out for a well-deserved double dose of rock-salt or birdshot, followed by tar, feathers and a hearty rail to ride getting hustled out of town.

Seriously, we have been moving to a more self sustaining lifestyle for awhile, We have three grandchildren to worry about.  If we are all wrong and its going to be rainbows and unicorn farts then so be it, we have enjoyed everything we have been doing, but if like I suspect were headed for a Venezuela x2 we at least can take care of our own and most of our neighbors :)

Yep, quite versatile, and even dried out and layered can make a good filtration system for emergency water, or writing paper when dried out again.
I keep several cases around all the time. Great invention...
