Delray -- one of the many towns cocaine built. I-75 has always been called 'cocaine highway' around here -- straight up out of the wide-open beaches of Florida and all the way to the Motor City.

I was born in Dayton and raised there when I-75 was being built to replace the old Dixie Highway, US-25. So much of the old and good was swept aside for the new, fast, and drug-laden. In 1965, I was a skinny white boy who owned my own Dayton Daily News route on Salem Avenue in Dayton between Catalpa and Philadelphia Drive. Today such a thing is suicide.

I do know Delray had a strong Hungarian presence at one time, but this gave way as did the Poles in Hamtramck or Detroit's Chinatown (which never recovered after being uprooted from its second enclave up and down the Cass Corridor). (That's Ham-tram-mick with a silent 'i', you bet your dupa!)

This might be of interest, maybe not. A proposal of how the least damage could be done to achieve the maximum effect for this project. Stress throughout: Maroun's lawsuits are slowing Michigan acquisition of the land needed for the bridge and for that $250 million customs plaza, which will be a huge problem later once building gets underway if that issue isn't settled.

An opposing Canadian view saying we oughta kiss Manny Maroun's feet is here, citing Canadian dollars spent per year on this after it opens. And a lot more. Includes an in-yo'-face to my favorite commie, Jack Lessenberry, who uses his Michigan Radio slot to pimp the DRIC (Detroit River International Crossing, the U.S. name).

This one's been brewing for a decade and will outshine anything else Rick Snyder ever does.

Incidentally: Snyder followed up on ramming through right-to-work legislation, on the annual Mackinac Bridge walk, being the first governor to hike the 5-mile Straits...with a robot at his side.

Take that, union rats. Happy Labor Day.

Yeah, no wiring, plumbing, or anything else you'd expect to find in a home, but still you can't beat the price.
Hey, this is just the thing that the typical cpf person dreams of.

Take your 1000 $ shell, outfit it with geothermal, a little bit of solar, a well and rain collection / cistern, a compost outhouse or 2, massive woodstove, a decent generator.  Candles & Lanterns.

And of course a big ass arsenal and hardening strategy, to survive the gangs and illegals and muslims.  Just like so many cowboy movies, lol.

Dearborn is ISIS Sadr City.
Ferndale is Gayborhood.
Hamtramck is Hipsters with STDs.
Up around Frasier it's "Much Vinyl Siding"---along with Angry Italians and Albanians Laundering Money for Italians.

Here's a map of Detroit metropolitan area towns with a real edge to the descriptions. The Ann Arbor area on up to Brighton? "GREAT WEED!"

Nothing to see, folks, move-along...  Quill was experiencing a slight 'width' difficulty with his optics.

There's still vast arrays of normal suburban vivification happening in the region year-round, like there always has been.  We wouldn't wanna excuse Philadelphia or Newark, etc., by disproportionately piling-on one city.

Then Michael Jackman's map only goes for easy-brain readymades, while ignoring icons like Gates Brown, George Pierrot, and Jerry Baker.

I didn't draw it, and if anything they went far too light on Dearbornistan or the drug havens out near Brighton and Ann Arbor. I have no idea what you mean by "width optics."

Broad brush...

Dearbornistan has been ethnic since the 50's.  Ditto for the drug-havens... the beatnick-era 'n all.

I'm not sure what Jackman is going-for with his map, but my instincts tell me throw-up some defensive barbwire...   'Christian pregnant'... ?   What's that?

Whitmore Lake is 'cheapskates who don't mind the commute to Ann Arbor'?   Wtf?

The whole thing reminds me of that leftist fag who used vile sexist cursives to make fun of Miss California, but it was okay for him to do it because he's a Dem.

You'd be amazed how many people will work there but refuse to live in Ann Arbor for its disgusting politics, obscene taxes, and ridiculous property values. Land values and housing costs are far cheaper in Whitmore Lake (and other outlying towns) than the uber-costly A-squared area. Saline, Milan, Chelsea, Dexter, Brighton, Whitmore Lake and many other "bedroom towns" like the one I live in are all heavily-affected by Ann Arbor commuters.
