Ya got to love government.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Laura Whitney and her husband, Michael Korte, don't know whether they're being good citizens during a drought or scofflaws.

On the same day the state approved mandatory outdoor watering restrictions with the threat of $500 fines, the Southern California couple received a letter from their city threatening a $500 penalty for not watering their brown lawn.

How long have the various levels of government been spending billions of tax dollars publicly "discouraging" the use of things like alcohol and tobacco, while at the same time continuing their legal status and depending on ever-rising taxes on the sales of those things for needed revenue?

When it comes to government in general, hypocrisy is the name of the game.

If you water your lawn, we will FINE YOU $500.

If you don't water your lawn, we will FINE YOU $500.

That makes sense!

It defies logic. You build one of the world's largest metropolitan complexes in a desert, and you get all surprised when there's not much rain.

Remember Danny Zuko and "Craterface" racing their cars for "pinks" in "Grease?" That was shot in the Los Angeles River -- really. That's what the LA River looks like most of the time.

To complete the lunacy, is it not correct that violations are to be reported ... no matter whether you do or don't water the lawn? I mean, that's a liberal sniveler's dream, he gets to rat people out either way.

About this supposed drought, it's a big fat lie!
I've seen many a drought in Ca over the decades, and based on any scale, this would be considered a weak one in the cycle.
They are even creating false maps to support their claims, like using color to depict the ultimate worst, when in truth, my County in the center of the state is not suffering one bit, it's a normal weather cycle.

Check out the map, a total fabrication!

Sensationalist, and CNBC is carrying water for the Dims that caused this problem in the first place.
There is no damned drought, there's only a storage problem!
God knows I hate stupid people and libs. Well that was redundant as Hell.

Shouldn't some TEA Party members be going to jail over this?  C'mon, LA...  It happened Tuesday.  We should've been blamed already.

I don't know if I'm surprised or not.  On one hand, the sheer stupidity of it dumbfounds me, yet, it is the government so anything is possible.
