Jeffrey Toobin Fired by The New Yorker After Investigation Into Zoom Incident

To briefly recap, Toobin was suspended after colleagues witnessed him masturbating during a staff Zoom call. Toobin said in a statement at the time, "I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off-camera. I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers... I believed I was not visible on Zoom. I thought no one on the Zoom call could see me. I thought I had muted the Zoom video."

The Daily Beast broke news Wednesday afternoon of Toobin being fired, per an internal memo:

"I am writing to share with you that our investigation regarding Jeffrey Toobin is complete, and as a result, he is no longer affiliated with our company," read a memo from Stan Duncan, Condé Nast's chief people officer, to staffers obtained by The Daily Beast.

"I want to assure everyone that we take workplace matters seriously. We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels respected and upholds our standards of conduct."

but we Democrats consider those things to be normal."

I thought his statement was so revealing of the Dems' thinking,
I made a point of noting the time and date of the statement.
