"Jeep" is a generic term used by the morons in the press who don't know any better. The vehicle is a soviet era made piece of crap....that's probably why it broke down.  Russian war ships used to frequent Cuba all the time, usually in three's so when one ship inevitibly broke down the others could take turns towing it until one of them broke down as well.
