Title: Facebook accepts pay to promote fake news about Aaron Rodgers - for six months!
Post by: je_freedom on April 16, 2024, 02:43:14 PM
And the fake story isn't even at all plausible!

Meta, the company that owns Facebook, has been accepting money to run advertising
that claims that Aaron Rodgers is facing a lifetime suspension from the NFL
for using CBD gummies to help heal the injury he received on September 11, 2023.

The ad redirects the user to a fake news article
that falsely appears to be on the Fox News website.
The story is actually hosted by cickross.site, which appears to be in China.
The page mimics the format of Fox News.  It is a complete counterfeit.

The fake news article claims that Aaron Rodgers
is having a "suspiciously speedy recovery" from his injury,
thanks to Bloom CBD Gummies, which is the product being promoted in the ad.
CBD is a pain relief medication, not a wound healing medication.
CBD cannot help wounds heal faster.

So the fake news that Meta/Facebook is accepting money to promote
is not even plausible!  It's not just fake, it's OBVIOUSLY fake!

The ad, and the fake news story, have been promoted by Meta/Facebook
starting in October 2023 until now, April 2024.

I doubt that I will ever be able to fix the first link.

The second link is    https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/aaron-rodgers-lifetime-suspension/

That should work.
