I suspect it may just be a put up deal to give the left an excuse for high energy prices. BTW more than just gas picrices at the pump will be going up but so will your electruc bills along with everything else.
Crazy but not stupid!

Word is, it was a CIA operation. Makes sense if you were just trying to destroy the public trust and faith in America's ability to produce, and expose our vulnerabilities. And yes, the left has been trying to drive up energy costs for decades, nothing changed.

Quote from: je_freedom on May 13, 2021, 12:24:14 PM$5 million is microscopic compared to the cost of leaving the pipeline shut down.

They REALLY need to get some good, hack resistant software,
which I expect would cost a lot less than $5 million.
(Hint to other companies whose operations are controlled by software.)

Why is this stuff controlled by software? Why is this software open to the internet?

It is a substance flowing through a pipe. Last time I checked, pipes had mechanical valves. It's one thing to have local control from a operations room, but it should never be accessible remotely.

I am sure that with the level of safety protocols an industry dealing with a flammable product would have, there would be no incidents when a flunky has to open or shut a valve to control product.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street I'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.
This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.
How come nobody was interested in educating people about these rights until online videos got monetization?

None of what they claimed was true, there was no hack.
When other pipeline companies asked for specifics so they could prevent the same from happening, they clamed right up.
It was all a lie, just like the election.

 If the "hack" did all that is being claimed, $5 million seems awful low. I would have expected a ransom in the billions. Pure B.S.

Exactly!!!
Lets assume there was a hack, they had them by the balls, then they release an apology that it was never political, that they never intended to hurt the economy, we're only in it for the money?

If it was all about the "Money", then why cave to a paltry 5 million? You're Right, Billions and make other pipeline companies cough up a cut, or they're next.
But what really exposed this for the fraud it is, was Colonial's refusal to release any information that might help out the pipeline industry.

In essence, the entire thing was a lie by the Marxist DNC designed this as a distraction, problem was, they never told their CCP media, who ran with it and caused panic buying.
This is the unforeseen consequences of a lie, no one knows just how to deal with the ramifications, as opposed to real life issues that come on naturally.
This thing got completely out of hand within 3 days.

Demanding a tiny ransom in exchange for the release of a super high value asset
is standard practice in the hacking industry.
The hackers just want some quick money.
They don't want their victims to hesitate even slightly,
deciding whether or not to pay the ransom.
Here are the 10 RINOs who voted to impeach Trump on Jan. 13, 2021 - NEVER forget!
