When two "men' have ZERO fear of an armed cop and shove him into his car and continue to assault him, the cop has every right to defend himself by any means necessary. What if the two thugs got his gun?

They PUSHED a police officer into his squad car? I would call that a very prominent act of aggression, and if I were that police officer, I would have feared for my life. The majority of us would be AFRAID to push a police officer in any way, much less into his car. If the kid was shot inside the car, I would say game over.
I think the police had every reason to find these kids dangerous, and act accordingly. Just from the little I've read, the PR problem may be multiple shots fired outside of the car. I know, rational thinking says the officer was still afraid.
I don't feel we have enough information on this story.
A thought for people - do NOT act other than POLITE with police officers. Anything else is asking for trouble.

Want to hold judgement on the actual killing to the facts are made clear. An 18 year can overpower a grown man, but not very likely, especially not a police officer, then again from all the COPS episodes I have seen the requirements to serve as a police officer in the US must be incredibly low.
As for the looting, it seems the looters came from outside Ferguson, not that this will matter to the racists that will attack the every black for this opportunist pillaging.

Why does a boy dog lick his balls? Notice that there is one circumstance upon which the "media" won't even speculate -- the race of the cop. The official line is that the officer's identity (and, thereby, his race) hasn't been released pending the results of an investigation. But believe me, whether it's official or not, plenty of people know whether the cop was black or white.
As to some of the other commenters, the 18-year-old high school graduate 'teen' is quite old enough to buy cigarettes, own a rifle or shotgun, run for local office, or join the military and get his ass shot off in Afghanistan. How is he not a man, legally speaking?

Lemme, see now, a black teen was shot by some police officer-the news said so, so it is now ok to loot businesses and disrespect all law officers? Yeah, that makes perfect sense doesn't it? Way to go media, you've done it again. I'm not leaving out the chief doo stirers either, the ethnically self-challenged, just looking to make things worse. Just wait until they have to share with the illegals. They'll get their share of gang-banging, pillaging, shootings and everything that goes with that behavior.
