Bernie Sanders: 99.9 Percent of Gun Owners 'Obey The Law'

The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA, P.L. 109-92) was passed in 2005. The PLCAA generally shields licensed manufacturers, dealers, and sellers of firearms or ammunition, as well as trade associations, from any civil action "resulting from the criminal or unlawful misuse" of a firearm or ammunition, but lists six exceptions where civil suits may be maintained. This act was introduced in response to litigation brought by municipalities and victims of shooting incidents against federally licensed firearms manufacturers and dealers, some of whom were located outside the state where the injuries occurred. Consequently, most lawsuits brought after the enactment of this law have been dismissed notwithstanding the exceptions that would permit a civil suit to proceed against a federal firearms licensee. This report provides an overview of the PLCAA and its exceptions, and discusses recent judicial developments.

The gun-issue really isn't contained in the socialist lexicon.  They're private property.  They'd belong to the community.

Arms-dealers aren't bourgeois nobility.  Johnny and Suzy can become one, in Sanders' world.  Citizens wishing to purchase a gun must 'work for the community good', blah blah blah...

You clearly misunderstand. I'm not saying he doesn't want gun control - he does. I'm just saying that his support of the bill in question was purely based on his protection of his Big Union patrons.

And, yes, you are absolutely correct, he is a Marxist; even though he probably doesn't think he is one. Socialism is the "gateway drug" to Marxism.

Sanders must be at least a little surprised at how well his candidacy has been received.  I am expecting the stars to fall into his eyes soon and for him to start saying what his handlers tell him to say.

Let's not forget, socialism is communism lite. Like Moslems, they will say and do anything to gain power and especially, position.

I am thinking this candidacy provides the Democrats the opportunity of saying, "Yeah, this is what we meant when we voted for Obama."  You know, folksy old deviant, anti-social, basically harmless.  He's giving the Obama voter a way to get off the hook without actually admitting fault. Liberals like that.

Even though 99.9% of gun owners 'obey the law', let's go ahead and restrict gun ownership and ammo purchases anyway! The leftist loons don't care about stopping illegal gun crimes, it's not about that anyway. They want to get rid of all guns, especially the legal ones. If they really cared about stopping illegal gun crimes, they'd clean out the illegal guns in the gang infested ghettos, but then they'd need a few million body bags before they started.    Sanders should be willing to ad the first excursion into south Chicago and start gun control there.
