That's one interpretation/explanation.  The other one is that Jesus, apocalyptic believer that he was, believed that the end times were coming very soon - before, as he said, all of his disciples died.  Jews didn't believe that you went to heaven when you died, so the "Kingdom of God" was literally a kingdom on earth and when God return, the earth would be returned to how it was before Adam ate the apple.

No thats been the consensus among believers. Your made up theory cannot be true because Jesus knows when the end times will be and we know they havent happened yet, so why would anyone think Jesus meant it would be back then?
And yes the jews did believe in heaven and hell, those arent new concepts.

Yes some jews let their own hearts interpret God's word and so thought his kingdom was an earthly one. But Jesus made clear that it was not, and christians have never thought as such.

Christs death and resurrection made all of us, in God's eyes, as we would have been in the garden, before Adam ate the apple.

You were the one who inserted Christianity, completely derailing the purpose of the thread!

I'm pretty sure you're agnostic at best, so I suggest you stay the fuck out of this forum and eave it to people of faith!

I inserted Christianity? Where?

Quote from: p1tchblack on July 20, 2021, 08:39:31 AMWell, we all make assumptions about what Jesus said, what he meant and if what is attributes to him was something he actually said.

Really? "All" of us? Make "assumptions"? So, in your warped opinion, there isn't anyone who reads or studies scripture to find out what God said, they just "assume" what He said based upon their own understanding, bias and opinion? Gee, why do you bother to read scripture at all? After all you can just "assume" that you know what God said and what He meant?

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path." Proverbs 3:5 - 6

The Bible has been a topic of interest of mine for awhile, but the "powers that be"  have ready suspended me for taking a thread off topic, so......
