Joy. pleasantries, passing on well-wishes and empathy to others is all we need to sustain our societal needs. Everything else will fall into place. Sorry I believe, since it hasn't happened in our entire history of mankind, that I see no great prospects for it down the road.  We can and should always continue to TRY and achieve that goal, no matter the odds of a perfect outcome.

I've known some Jews - for decades. Some have even passed on. And they, knowing I am Christian, were always nice to me. Invited me to celebrate Passover with them.

Jesus was a Jew. He celebrated Passover.

If a Pagan, Hindu, whatever, invited me to celebrate with them, I'm in.

As long as I was not required to denigrate Jesus, I would be pleased to join in.

Many, if not most, Historians believe early Christians had no real idea what Date Jesus was born, but chose Dec 25th so as to lure Christians away from Saturnalia to something more wholesome.

The problem with "many, if not most" historians and their views on when Christmas is celebrated is those "many" ignore the history of the time, and rather focus on history of Christianity, and specifically Christianity post Constantine.

The thing is, the origin of Christmas was not the actual birth of Christ.  Rather, Christmas, which includes the tradition of giving gifts, comes from the Magi, who sought out the Christ Child, to do Him homage and in the process brought Him gifts from their kingdoms. And the Magi can be shown through study of astronomical events of the time, to have visited Jesus in Bethlehem, several years after His birth, but on the night of the 25th of December.

It all has to do with analysis of what was the Star of Bethlehem. Many speculations of what it entailed, such as a super nova, or comet, or other unusual or singular event, do not account for clues, such as the fact that Herod did not know when the Star first appeared. In fact, only astronomers took note of the astronomical event commonly referred to as the Star of Bethlehem. So it was not some unique, outstanding item that people suddenly noticed in the sky, but rather a series of astronomical conjunctions which only academics associated with prophecy. And the final event, in which the "king" of wandering stars (Jupiter) paused in the skies - or in modern terms transitioned from retrograde motion to normal motion - and did so over Bethlehem (from the view point of Jerusalem) on December 25th of 2 BC.

The documentary "Star of Bethlehem" shows how the analysis of what astronomical events became associated with the Christmas Story, and uses a commonly available astronomical application called "Starry Night". The events described can be verified using several different astronomy applications providing they have the ability to set the calendar date that far back.

What in it do you disagree with? Maybe my thought that I see no great prospects for total peace between all people of the world? If so, I'm using our world history of war since history has been recorded.
