Churches in America will have much to answer for for being ignorant and too fearful to speak truth to power for at least the last half century. And it started from the pulpit then worked its way through the membership.
Initially, American Heritage was that every church had the responsibility to be civically astute, and stand steadfast with those laws steeped in Scriptural principles. There was no doubt that those who tried to buck that trend, faced fierce resistance. That's goes to why and how America's churches & teachings became the bedrock of its culture and government.
