How Much?

There was a certain person who wanted to purchase a car. It seemed good, it seemed like a good deal and it seemed like it would get them back and forth with no trouble. The day finally came to pick the car up and pay the seller but, there were no tires and no transmission.

The seller explained that they wanted to keep them. They were only selling the car rather than the tires or transmission. The seller decided not to take the car after all.

There was another person who wanted to purchase a house. Again, it seemed good, it seemed like a good deal and it seemed like it would make a good home. The day of closing the seller informed the buyer that they were not selling the bathroom, just the house. The bathroom would be padlocked and inaccessible to the buyer. Needless to say, the purchaser chose not to make the purchase.

I was out riding my bike and a thought occurred to me. In the book of Corinthians, Chapter 6 and verse 20 it says: "For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God with your body and in your Spirit, which is God's."

We were bought at a price. The scriptures tell us that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. The scriptures also tell us that we are sinners and that if we think we aren't that we are lying. Jesus bled as a ransom for all of our body, not just some of it. Not just the parts we want to give Him. He purchased all of us, 100%. Not only that but, God purchased everything inside of our body. Our soul, our mind, our body and our Spirit. Just as the buyers purchased all of the car or all of the house, God purchased all of us.

It is easy for humans to forget that we don't own anything, God owns everything. There are so many godless, "spiritual" people telling us how "great" we are, how we are in control and how "powerful" we are. It's the same lie and ruse that the devil told Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Oh the actual words may have changed somewhat but, the premise is the same. The lie hasn't changed and the deception is still effective.

A lie is always a lie, it never becomes the truth. Deception is always deception and it never becomes fact. Like a square peg in a round hole, the peg will never change its shape to become round. Even if you pound on the peg, it will never be round, it may become rounded but, it will never fit as it should.

The words "which is God's" stuck out to me. No matter how much we deny it. No matter how much we lie and try to say that it isn't so, we belong to God completely. Just as we can lie and try to say that the sky is green, it will never be so.

Guess not. Whenever I have looked at the sky, (almost daily), it is NEVER pink or green, but, is always blue (except of course at night).

So you don't see the sun rise or sun set.  In your part of the world.

In your part of the world, I guess it's perpetually sunrise or sunset, eh?
