Title: Does the term "MOTHER NATURE" annoy anyone ?
Post by: SalemCat on November 12, 2015, 08:08:18 PM
Forgive me, for 99% of people this is likely really far out.

First of all, I'm not a really Strict Christian. Many of those folks did not vote for Romney because they believe Mormonism is a Cult. Some also abhor Halloween because it is felt it is Pagan.

Now I respect them, though damn, man, how could they let Obama sneak in AGAIN ? And Halloween is harmless, at least I think so.

Anyhow, to the point: Any reference to "Mother Nature" rubs me the wrong way. I know those who say it mean no harm, but should they not really credit GOD or JESUS instead of some fantasy ?

Ok, no big deal. Just a silly thread.

PS: Why now ? Christmas is coming, and every year at least one "Christmas" show has "Mother Nature" as a character in it. So one of my minor annual annoyances is fast approaching.

I often think about that old commercial because my daughter's wedding dress looked a lot like "Mother Nature's" dress.

salem, I share your dislike of this term.  It is a direct attempt to deny the Creator God.

And I DO believe God was the Creator of the universe.

I began this Thread because I thought it was a slow News Day.

If only I was RIGHT !

God IS the creator, and our poor brains will forever lack the abiliy to understand him (her, it) in any real way.

Fortunately, God is pleased if we simply ackowledge Him and do our best to love each other (I hope).

Sorry salem, that is not the way.

God desires a personal relationship with us.  He wants us to communicate with Him through prayer and He will nurture that relationship.  It is not a hit or miss arrangement.

May I remind you that Satan himself acknowledges God.  Read Job.

Well,

Jesus will forgive me.

Or He won't.

I respect your beliefs.

And, BTW, I pray to Him every Day. I thank Him, and I ask Him to bless me and my Family.

So far, no real complaints.

You don't have to "hope."  You can "know" that you have a real relationship with the living God.  I cannot know about you, but I can know about me because He interacts with me in a meaningful way that reveals His existence in my life.

I can "hope" that is true for you also.

Yes, almost as much as the term "easter" does.

Because both hearken back to the day's of pagan worship of false gods and goddesses. Which the Christian (and the Jew btw) is not supposed to have anything to do with.

Ya might as well say "muhammad nature" and it would be just as correct. Given they're both false gods, and both creators of nada, let alone "nature".

The more I think about this, the more I believe I am taking it too seriously.

The latest is this deal about FROSTY THE SNOWMAN being "alive" from an old Top Hat.

It's certainly blasphemous, but at this rate I'll be a Muslim in no time.

Next thing you know I'll be angered by Talking Animals, which implies they have souls.

I think I will dismiss all of this as harmless fun - for now.

My father had a talking parrot. Lucifer, I say! Harmless thread with some fun pondering. Ehh...who knows, "Mother Nature" ??? Maybe it has something to due with how we humans and all life for that matter, must suckle from the earth for survival? I dunno.

OK, let me kick this into high gear over drive, turbo charged with a jet pack strapped on, over the top stupid, where logics thrown in the dumpster.

"God is a woman"

I love it when I hear a feminazi spew their ignorant hatred.

At which point I politely ask a myriad of leading questions that lead to the inevitable melt down.

God is NOT a woman... never has been!

All jesting aside, if the Bible read according, I think It would actually make more sense. I think women are more kind, smarter and better suited being maternal and all. My wife made me write that.

Yes, women possess all those qualities because God created them to be a helpmate.  They tend to be genetically inclined to want to help others.... most of all their mate and offspring.

However men have traditionally been the providers and protectors.  That is intuitive to their genetic makeup.

Therefore it makes much more sense for God to be a male.
