A good king.... who had God's heart...but he was a sinful man.   As are we all.  Gives me hope.

I agree, it gives us all hope. We all fall short as do all of our Biblical Heroes. From the beginning all that are born into this world have a sinful nature. The Bible doesn't hide that fact, it clearly shows that even the most prominent figures in the Bible had a problem with sin at one time or another. In my opinion one of the main reasons that it wasn't hidden was in order to give us all hope of a better life. I'm sure you have heard it said that's Christians are not sinless they just sin less.
