Some music outliers that came from conservative sites over time

If you want to explore some different music. I may post individual links later on.

Some freakish outliers in music recommendations.  I could have lived my whole life without finding any of these. I am over 70 years old and not trying to be hip. I composed this as I realized how much of my current music came from conservative sites. Alina Gingertail is now a major addiction.

Someone at ACOC (Ann Coulter Official Chat long ago) posted some anime set to Every Time We Touch which led me to several music genres I never considered. Funny how that works.

The anime led to Cascada then dance music then trance music then DJ Armin van Buuren, then Within Temptation.

I stumbled on these mostly over the last few years. A post at Covert Conservatives led to Alina Gingertail which led to some folk, Slavic folk, and video game music.

Here are two playlists linked to some songs. It is a Russian amateur from the Russian far east (Blagoveshchensk , Khabarovsk ) Alina Gingertail. .Maybe I am getting senile. I am smitten by her elf girl magic. She has her natural hair color in Gravel Walk. Then she dyes it further red later on. She used to play Irish and Folk. Now mostly music from video games.  Good Riddance from video game Hades might be good for a funeral. Seriously. It is in her playlist.

https://youtu.be/aEadQcDQT08?list=PLVmg3ofLiKGoew6Oc4wg9vULZU6c1Dxkf  [oldest] Gravel Walk 11 years ago on her domra.

https://youtu.be/MNmLn6a-jqw?list=PLWuGFckoU4Twsy1e1QR1Xr5R5zSkjXsOH  [most popular] The Wellerman 4 years ago. [playing Irish bouzouki, mandolin, washboard, flute, accordion, tenor banjo, tambourine, and her blind rescue cat Illidan.]

https://youtu.be/4cPObK-BFV8?list=PLWuGFckoU4Twsy1e1QR1Xr5R5zSkjXsOH [most recent] The Witcher 3 - Silver for Monsters [she is dressed as Triss from The Witcher and plays geyerleier, bass rebec?, nyckelharpa, свирель(Svirel), гудок(gudok), accordion, Neapolitan mandolin. ]

Her videogame music led to Slavic Folk as some games like The Witcher have these. Another rabbit hole.

A fun bawdy folk song Matty Groves Here done by The Fairport Convention.  Gingertail covered half of this and led me here.

I do not like metal but like good female singers.  Floor below is currently mother of two.

https://youtu.be/47e_961OQWE  Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (WACKEN 2013) [likely most reacted to concert song on youtube]

If you want to give symphonic metal a try. These came thanks to ACOC. Sharon den Adel is now mother of three. I jumped into the middle of the concert

https://youtu.be/hJXdk4mKM9M?t=5140 Within Temptation and Metropole Orchestra - Black Symphony (Full Concert HD 720p)

Sharon cleans up nice. Here she is as often pregnant.

Like you, I too have an eclectic taste. All of those were good in their own right.

I don't try to be  difficult or different. I was VERY recently surprised at how many of my current favorites came directly or indirectly from conservative web sites.  I think only Floor Jansen/Nightwish did not trace the roots to a conservative forum. BTW she is married or partner the drummer from Sabaton.

My memory fails but Sergio Mendes (RIP) was my favorite of all time. Classical, jazz, big band, Natalie Merchant, The Doors, some Brazil jazz, Chuck Mangione,  Ravi Shankar, folk. Old skool drum and bugle corps. Plus my lists above.

I like repetitive rhythms like Mozart, Ravi Shankar, trance music, DJ Armin van Buuren.

If you read the comments to the Alina Gingertail Gravel Walk video above, so many are simps (like me). People gush over her looks, charm, music, propose marriage etc. She is often called the elf girl. Once called the hobbit.

Why is Alina called the elf girl? https://youtu.be/eVVyHmtY4RQ?list=PLVmg3ofLiKGoew6Oc4wg9vULZU6c1Dxkf&t=378
This is some Russian kids in the Russian far east dancing to US/UK folk music.

The universality of music is amazing.

Sergio Mendes was and still is one of my favorite conductors/writers, along with the Tijuana Brass and Herb Alpert.
Of course, like you, I too was introduced to classical music thanks to Mel Brooks.
Never liked hard rock, everything early 60s was fine, but after the 65 drug scene, I tuned out.

I was introduced to classical through drum and bugle corps then on my own.
I am so old .... I saw Sergio Mendes at the WI State Fair in 1971. Chet Atkins and The Pointer Sisters opened for them. When they started playing they were booed because it was not rock. A few minutes later people were dancing in the aisles. Lani Hall, the brunette was lead singer then.Sergio Mendes and Herb Alpert are linked through A&M records and Lani Hall.

someone blocked the video of how they met. She was 19 and  lived with her parents.
QuoteLani Hall was performing at The Centaur coffee house in Chicago in 1965 when Mendes, on tour, heard her sing at a benefit at Mother Blues, another local club. He invited her to join his new project, Sérgio Mendes & Brasil '66, after meeting her father to gain his approval.

in LA she started seeing Herb Alpert (nice Jewish boy from LA) and  got serious. and knew she could not tour and keep things together so she left the group. Married for 40 plus years.

That so brings back softer times of life. Long before the left politicized everything under the sun.
Too bad Sergio died, a loss, no doubt.
but herb is still kicking.

I always thought Herb was Hispanic but no. Jewish. He said he made his first album with non union musicians. Later he told the unions and paid a fine and back pay. I am not a union fan but I remembered this. Herb is now very rich and giving his money away.

I will watch the Sergio Mendes documentary linked above again. Now free.
Another great documentary is The wrecking Crew abut session musicians. I had no idea many records were recorded using session musicians. Now free. Glenn Campbell was a session musician.

The Wrecking Crew
QuoteMusic lovers will be astonished at the influence The Wrecking Crew wielded over rock and pop music in the 1960s and early 1970s. These unsung instrumentalists were the de-facto backing band on hit records by The Beach Boys, Phil Spector, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Sinatra, Sonny & Cher, Elvis, The Monkees and many more. These dedicated musicians brought the flair and musicianship that made the American "West Coast Sound" a dominant cultural force around the world.

There is a movie abut music that as good. Not sure how accurate. I do not like the music Beyonce plays but she is talented and plays Etta James well. NOT free.
